Just saw this story about Al Sharpton pushing Costco because they are holding their position on DEI. It has been two days and I had not heard about this until now. If it is not a Vin RDP is slipping. 😁

I knew there was a reason I didn't shop at Costco.

I don't know if they push the hard dei bullshit like the government. If you working at Costco you are busting ass all day. However, it‘s just nice to hear big companies denouncing DEI.

My experience is the workers are happy, hard working and knowledgable...their light bulbs are on. Contrast that with the unhirable lepers working at Walmart.

They do.
I was being recruited for a position. Made it to the BOD interview.
Feedback I received, “We decided to go in another direction.”
The executive search firm I was working with had a friend in HR. They got the real reason. “BOD wanted a minority candidate to meet DEI objectives, even if that candidate was not as experienced.”

As a mid 40 white guy, I got the opinion, I was only interviewed so they could say they looked at other candidates.
Told my wife, I felt like a minority interviewing for a head coaching job in the NFL. Only got the interview so someone could check a box.

Costco has been a customer of mine for almost 30 years, DEI hiring might be a better way for them to go. In the time I’ve been involved with them they have hired some legitimate retards in key positions and it had nothing to do with DEI. Upper management there is unbelievably political.

Friend's kid works for Indeed, the hiring and placement company.
He basically said, forget-it if you are a white straight male. Reverse racism is their corporate culture, so it seems.

Have been on the receiving end of that message twice in my career.
At one place, the CFO called me 6 months later asking if I was still interested.
Person he originally picked was terminated. I knew who they hired and knew it was not going to work out. Person did not have experience dealing with the audit committee, etc.

I told the CFO = You had an opportunity to hire me and passed. You fired who you hand picked after 6 months. Sorry, but I am no longer interested in working with you. The Audit Committee chair (old CFO I worked for), even called and tried to convince me. He knew I was not going to entertain the idea. He called again after the CFO was terminated, but I was already in a new job and happy.

While we are hoping and dreaming Costco joins the long list of businesses dumping DEI, I would like to see Costco go back to membership that requires proof of employment.

Neither are likely to happen, with mine firmly on the “never going to happen” list.

I just got back. They had plenty in stock. Stupid Stator Brothers didn't have any.

🙄

We were at Costco today in AZ and saw a lady with an entire flat cart stacked with eggs…probably 3 feet high.

Restaurant maybe?

🤡 Nobody wants that irrelevant old bastard in their corner..

All that ass hole does is try to promote unrest while walking with a 200 year old crutch.

From the looks of him he's on borrowed time and times about up.. Good riddance@

Well they are bring back Coca-Cola products in the food court so I'm gunna have to sit this boycott out🤔
Really? I have hated the Pepsi in th food courts since they did it. Now I am torn with what I should do. Boycott Costco OR support the food court?

I decided not to renew my Costco membership. I also don't drink coke or Pepsi. DEI, well that kills me being a customer. The grocery store I shop at in store brand pop is good enough.
