I love everything about it except the M12 part. I don't want to invest in other M12 tools, they're nice for small stuff but the drills, impacts etc are too small.
The small Millwaukee impact is awesome and my go to most times. The m12 battery charges on the 18 charger. I have 2 of the 3/8 ratchet’s and they are bad ass.

But you are considering proprietary Snapon for 5x the price? That makes no sense.
It didn’t make sense to me either!

I’ve been on this fence for a while,
So I’ll ask, 3/8 regular M12 or 3/8 Fuel M12?

Fuel is more powerful, but also a larger head. Meaning the regular brushed motor version will fit in tighter spaces.

What say the tool monkeys here?!

Either one is fine. I have both now actually - Fuel in 3/8 and standard in 1/4. As stated above, anything over 15-20 ft lbs I’m breaking loose with a regular ratchet anyway. The electric ratchet is for speed.

Snap On Would be your best choice, IF you were using it every day for a living.

For home use, all my chit is DeWalt. Milwaukee is great, but not worth the extra expenses for home use.
I use mine to make a living …

Ive never seen a snapper wagon on a job site…. Although I have seen plenty of Roach coaches !

Neighbor is 60 been wrenching on cars for 40 years and he runs M18 & M12 set up - buys em from the snapper man for full warranty,

My company uses nothing but Millwauke tools at this point. We probably have 25 thousand batteries. Haven't had a lot of battery issues. We really like almost all of the millwauke tools. The 1 ton m18 crimper is a POS though. Burndy is my go to for crimpers. I wish Burndy would switch to Millwauke batteries instead of Makita.

M12 for the win I broke a quarter inch ratchet after 4 years of daily use and bought a new one not realizing it had a 5-year warranty, oh well, worth the money.

Coworkers have the snap on and matco but I'm just too cheap the M12 is great and I would get the Long reach as well as the standard length.

No air or battery ratchet should be used to break things loose if just pulling the trigger won't do it you need a different tool.

There's some killer deals right now for sure, i wish Dewalt had a smaller head and different battery shape.

I think i'm gonna end up going down the M12 rabbit hole, found this deal today - All Fuel brushless, with 4 batteries and the extended high-speed 3/8 ratchet....

That’s a good deal. That bare ratchet is usually 250

This is the only snap on cordless tool I suggest everyone own - the saw too but this is gold

Milwaukee tools are better
Dewalt batteries best
I’m a makita guy friend works there but they are 3rd place sorry.

That line of micro tools are impressive! If I used them daily I would for sure go that route. I like to only have a couple battery platforms to keep things simple or that micro line would be in my box.

Just the power of the this little guy is impressive
So far my vote is Dewalt
The batteries live the longest

Have a lot of bad makita batteries

Air tools never did me dirty

Milwaukee 100%, and I'd bet a case of beer that your M12 tool set would find itself expanding rapidly once you started seeing all the awesome M12 tools they make now. You'd be surprised at how much power they have now with the better high output batteries.

came here to say this.

pick up a m12 grease gun at the same time, you'll thank me later

For what it's worth, I've had my m12 3/8" Ratchet for about 7 years. I don't use it much, but the first few days I owned it was used for 3 12 hour shifts. Obviously it doesn't have the torque of an impact but it definitely has its uses.
I'd go with whatever I already had batteries for.

It does....or does not have the torque of an impact?

Note: this is just general info to the OP's ? and not directed to Icky.

Mine does not.
1.5 yrs old now. Has very little torque IMO. To me it's only real use is running bolts in/out etc. I do make it break bolts loose/tight by using it just like a standard ratchet and it does that fine so far, say up to 40-50 ft/lbs. maybe, but I'm only using it on my race boat for general maint. The head gear seems to be pretty stout so far.
To me it's a low volumn use tool. Quite handy for starter changes when required with the very low clearance to the hull. Batteries seem to last pretty well and hold charge fine between uses. (Unused for 3-6 weeks at a time in our case)

Im not a professional - just my understanding, but I’ve always been under the impression you’re supposed to use it to break a nut loose like you would a traditional rachet, then use the motor to run it out.

Doesn't, I'll fix my post 👍🏼

I used it yesterday to run my cv bolts in, torque is less than 30 ft lbs. I torqued the bolts to 30 and then to 45 .

The new long reach are more powerful and much faster than the 2-3year old short versions. They are a big upgrade.

I wasn't certain and thought I'd verify.
With the age difference or possible alternative tool models, I had no idea if ours were or even worked the same.

Didnt need extended or another drill and just ordered this

I ended up going this same route….$249 with 3 batteries, the high speed “regular reach” 3/8 ratchet and the fuel m12 brushless impact. The deal was like a sore dick…..you can’t beat it!

That the even newer version of the impact than what I have. I bet it'll impress the hell out of you.

Nice...was that in store or online?
They had it in store at Home Depot, big Milwaukee display area at front of store. If you get one, be aware the HD staff has no idea what the deals are - you literally have to show them what your supposed to get lol. Don’t let them forget to give you the free HO 2.5 battery!

Nice, thx for the insight.
I paid a little more then that for just my ratchet when I bought it @ the Napa distribution store in Ontario.
