There have been some very recent developments at Competitive Trailers in Lake Havasu. There is new ownership and a transition is taking place. There will be an announcement about future operations coming shortly.

That’s good news I hope. I thought the family shut it down when it was still in Bellflower.

Competitive has a little video on Facebook and it shows Danny still being listed as the president.

Do tell? I need to get my Competitive trailer refurbished and I'm pricing out several options. I like the guys at Adrenaline but need to weigh all options.

X2
I had them do a full rebuild on my trailer this spring and they did an excellent job. Hell I never even stepped foot in their. Called them on the phone, they picked it up from my storage the next day, and 2 weeks later it was back in my storage looking like a brand new trailer :D

...My 1974 Competitive...for my Sanger Runner...I had to re-engineer and rebuild it a number of years ago because my driveway at Lake Oroville is a little rough on boat trailers... trailer was flimsy at best when new ???...

Mine had a lot of deflection in the tongue area which I will attempt to "pre load" and box in that area I'm doing a little overhaul as we speak as well as torsion axles and disk brakes. I'm using my flat bed as a straight bench and roll around dolly.

Had 2 C channel tunnel boat trailers and 1 new style box v bottom trailer, the C channel trailers last forever, the new box style hold water and rust out
All my boats except one had C channel trailers. My 1972 Vance trailer is still rust free, the two Fotografix trailers also rust free, except my buddy wrecked the one for the 20 Spectra. The Ryan trailer for my Mirage was a boxed frame. Even with relieve holes to draining water out, it rusted from the inside.I've replaced it with a C channel TUFF trailer from Washington state that will outlast me and the new owner after I'm gone.;)

There was a 26 Larry Smith Scarab in my neighborhood a while ago that had a custom boxed frame. You had to maintain air pressure before launching or retrieving the boat though.;) I think it was filled with nitrogen too IIRC.

1972 Spectra/1972 Vance trailer still alive.:)
