CHP looks to be cracking down on commercial trucks on the 40. Saw three pulled over on way to Havasu today. Guessing speeding? I usually drive early AM in the dark when all the trucks are sleeping. Maybe this is normal?

We drive the 40 from Havasu to Williams
I go 8 to 10 mph over 75
I barely get past some of these trucks

I just wish they would enforce the Lane Camping, Keep right except to pass law.
There aren’t too many multi lane freeways here in NH but my god on the few there are the campers are parked regularly.
Sure glad my Tesla only goes 50 miles round trip. Got plenty of juice to dust them at 100 without trying. 😁

It’s easy money for departments and they don’t piss off the locals. It will only get worse for Sinbad and his 17 1/2 wheels…

94.

People know better, for sure, because it feels like I’m Moses when I’m at work…

…in my personal car however…😡 😂😂
The slow lane on the 40 thru AZ is so f’d up it’s hard to drive in with some tractor trailer combinations. I usually split the slow lane one direction or the there when nobody is around and deal with the filling chattering when getting passed. Whoever is in charge of the 40 thru your state should be fired.

Hell the 40 through MY state is like glass when you compare it to the 40 between the state line and Kingman. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oh I thought you were in AZ. You are correct,, the 40 is much better in California than Az.

93 from Vegas to kingman you pull to the right and play swerve from emergency lane to center stripe to pass, the right lane is so f'd even the truckers stay to the left.

Yep, 93 is a death trap just due to road conditions.

Saw two or three CHP parked in the construction zones. Three with semi trucks pulled over and a fourth getting in position in the median. Lot of coverage today for the EB 40 between 15 and state line. Watch your speed. 😁

Kinda off topic but how’s it been in AZ with the work trucks with service bodies?

In Central Valley Ca we have been getting hammered, it seems like they go through phases where they will pull them over then don’t mess with them too much. I was told they are impounding on the spot for 30 days which is the problem more than anything. Anything from not having stuff in the bed strapped properly (no matter what is in the bed) to not having the license plate with tag sticker in the front of truck like a semi.

I see guys with work trucks like that getting hammered like crazy from the lunch truck also guys with hotshots running it as a personal vehicle. It’s not cheap to run legal that’s for sure but you end up spending the money in the long run or more if you get popped. to each their own but running dirty isn’t worth it in my opinion spend the money and do it right.

Dang 94. I drive the 10 twice a month Phx to south oc not uncommon to see trucks at 75. Did have one at 82 along side of me too day though.

All on az side though once ca they all get panicked at 63mph. But most look smooth at 75 and doing so in safe manner.

But years ago had one on our ass near desert center doing about 75 and literally 5 ft off our car and in a hurry. Was changing lanes often and was one of those situations where you just couldn’t go faster or move out of the way due to traffic. Was kind of scary one hiccup with car this asshole would have ran right into us with no time to brake.

We sit at the bottom of a couple different hills to get them at those speeds.. 🤓

Man always the downhills lol. When we use to go to needles often with cabover camper and boat I stayed 62mph since I got best mpg and basically coasted into needles. But downhill going into needles I had to watch speeds as I could coast faster without paying attention. Always saw a unit somewhere on the hill.

Plus driving 62 towing never drawed attention🤔😱

I used to have a picture of my Lidar with the 94 on the screen and the rig in the background and I can’t find it to save my ass!

“Oh I drive this fast in Texas all the time…”

Good for you.

I don’t take any of this shit personally unless it hurts somebody, but the amount of kinetic energy a big rig carries at 94, is fucking insane.

I've seen plenty of trucks running at 80 or better on the 40. Oh and they're swerving all over the road at the same time.

When we used to race in Laughlin we would run the hauler up around 90 but with chase trucks in front and in back to protect the hauler

Speed limit is 70 on the 40 in California. I set the cruise at 75. It’s a nice pace compared to when I started driving in mid 80’s. I’m sure more than a few around here remember the national 55 speed limit. It was brutal for crossing the desert.

I agree 1000% with you. I haul fuel every night basically Havasu to Vegas and the 40 both directions and the 93 both directions are totally shot. I'm lucky I work graveyard so there's way less traffic and I can use the Fastlane more. I ABSOLUTEY hate being in the fastlane in the way of motorists.

With boat towing season coming up: If you're towing a boat eastbound on the 40 avoid the slow lane if you can near the Arizona scale house where the lane restriction starts all way till MM8. If you're traveling on the 40 westbound avoid the slow lane at MM40 to MM34 coming out of Kingman. These areas are the absolute worst sections of the highway.
