Where is the best place to buy the large bulb... soft white looking Christmas bulbs. I am referring to the old school looking ones that are always mounted perfectly straight. I love that old school look. Also, what is the best way to install these... that way they can be reinstalled every year? (I don't think people are just using a staple gun on these? or are they o_O)

I bought some LED style big bulbs a while back, and they are too dim / do not give this look.

My neighbor has this set up. I will take a look at how he has it mounted when I get home. Looks much classier than my small LED's hung on nails.

I have bought at Home Depot, Walmart and Costco over the years. The big bulbs have been a little difficult the last few years in Hawaii since they are going LED route. There are places on line that you can pick them up as well.

As for installation I have used the stapler on both sides of the light socket. It will allow the bulb to stand up straight. You can pull out the staples and reuse the strand the next year. I have also put bulbs on our roof ridge. I would drill holes in flashing and zip tie the light to the flashing. Then take a small dab of henry’s In a caulking gun and stick it to the roof on every third bulb. We were lucky since our roof was gray in color you didn’t notice the Henry’s after the flashing was removed.

Our neighbors said tha tour house looked like a casino when I was finished. LOL

Good luck and post up photos of your decorations.

Looks like a professional did it. LOL The new LED bulb one's I just bought at home depot have little clips on them. Worked really well mounting to my drains. Where I didn't have the drains a staple gun is what I used. I'm sure there are some works of clips you can put on your house. I have just never researched to find out.

target has a lot of various, cool, creative LED Christmas light's at seemingly reasonable prices. I don't hang lights (tooo lazy) so I got nuthin for ya there.

That looks like a professional did it like @SKIDMARC said.

We use those clips like above to attach to the gutters and they seem to work great. It says you can use them under shingles, but it just never works out. Too much weight maybe? With the clips you can put a c7 or c9 on top and than hang an icicle light in the same clip.

I have ordered from Christmasligtsetc.com before for individual lights. You can buy the string with the sockets on there and customize the light bulbs. They have the old style on there as well.

I have no idea how I would attach christmas lights to my RV Garage etc.. It's just stucco?

Hot glue gun works and peels off, but it only works on certain stucco textures. It doesn’t work so well on the sand stucco textures.

You can find the old school c9 bulbs on Amazon. I use an electric staple gun on mine and stable underneath the facia board.

Still waiting on the cherry picker for 2nd story.

First pic are the Super Bowl lights we did for the Broncos. Second pic are Christmas lights. For Christmas we also wrap the tree bases and net lights on the smaller shrubs.
C9 bulbs. Each level is a single stand. Each socket is base down against facia boards (bulb sticks straight out) and stapled on each side.

You can also use “gutter clips” like the ones already pictured to install no flashing. Best choice if you cannot staple. Clip in the light and slide clip between stucco and roof flashing. Most clips will need to be trimmed down to slide under flashing. Those same clips can also mount to gutter or edge of tile roof shingles.

Another good idea. Buy next years lights at Walmart right after Christmas. Mini lights go from $3-4 a box to $.50 a box.

I paint my own fascia board. I didn't think it was a big deal.

Small pan and roller is not that big a deal to cover up the holes.

I use Christmaslightsetc, 1000bulbs, and christmasdesigners for my lights. Nothing big, but I buy C9 stringers, zip cord, M/F zip plugs and customize my strands to my house. I use LED and a mix between hot glue and clips to keep everything straight, but they have incandecent as well.

always made the standard lengths work. But I like the idea of modifying the strings with the parts that you have noted.

I don't get that either. The first year, I spent a few hours drilling and screwing in tiny white j-hooks. Now it's a 15 minute job to put them up or take them down.

Yah, I’m a bit OCD. This year I started the bulbs on one side of my garage about 6” lower than in the previous year which meant one side of the garage had one less bulb than the other....yes I added one bulb to the stringer to even it out. I thought I could deal with it for about 30 seconds before I folded.

I had all clear redwood fascia 1952 house I sanded all the fascia board down to bare wood fill all holes primed and painted them white Simi gloss lots of work didn't want any holes ever again. The clips slid under the roofing and held the lights perfectly straight

Walmart has all kinds of Xmas lighting and stuff at low prices

I used to go with the C9 (large bulbs) in incandescents but this year switched to Walmart's C9 LED lights which are brighter than the previous LED lights.

I found these clips at Home Depot great (fast) for attaching to the eaves:

Those are what i use. If you go LED make sure to get the super bright ones in c7 and c9.

My dad rented a scissor lift for tomorrow, problem is, the guy that had it still hasn’t returned it :/ maybe a scissor lift is in your area at a decent price?
Yep. Big boys in my area rent lifts... actually they just hire people with lifts to put lights up haha
