A work trip had me driving from Modesto to Monterey today right past Laguna Seca. This weekend is the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion prior to the Concours at Pebble Beach. While walking the paddock today I ran into this guy. It took every fiber in my body not to call him Ponch! 🤣 Really nice guy though, good conversation.

This was episode/scene I was in, albeit vey briefly🤣. It was filmed on the 210. Joey Chitwood Jr. was actually driving the car on 2 wheels, but they also had another car propped up on a trailer for filming for Larry and Erik. It’s going to take some digging, but I will try and find all the pictures I have.

I met Larry Wilcox at the Mint 400 in the mid 80’s. He was super cool and normal. I was 14 and I remember being asked if I watched Chip? And did I want to meet John Baker. I was like heck yeah! He was racing a class 8 full size step side Ford truck. At the time my grandfather was racing for Mazda in 7S (semi-stock mini truck). Those were the days of everyone wanting to race trucks and getting manufacture support. Mazda was an interesting deal!

He's lost some weight. Aging really well as others have said.

I see Larry Wilcox all the time around my neighborhood. He's friends with a neighbor down the street.

I will find more pics from the camera truck with the car on two wheels but here’s one from that day of filming.

That is awesome! They filmed on the 210 for the first couple of seasons but as they opened it up they moved to the 118 for the last few seasons. If I remember correctly, they used parts of the 2 as well.

Was at a soccer tournament in my youth off Balboa a long time ago. They were using part of the parking lot as a staging lot. All the crashed cars and the ramp car to make the cars crash. I was more interested in that than the soccer tournament.
