Thank you for sharing!

That meets most of my towing needs.

Depends what you pay for gas/electricity, .48/kwh is what the Electrify America chargers cost (as shown in video) Gas here is $5.80 for regular.

So 1.13 mi/kwh is slightly better than gas or .424 per mile. 205.31 KWH = $98.54 at E.A.

9.8 mpg at $5.80 per gallon is .59 per mile. 23.6 gallons = $136.88 (Cheaper in CO, where they paid $99.00 for premium)

I don't know where they get the 38.2 MPG figure from??

They did NOT charge the truck up to 100% at E.A. after the test, they only put enough to get "back to the ranch" (where electricity was .17/KWH)

B.S. video, not filling the Silverado back to 100% and showing what it cost "on the road" (200+KWH battery) So much bad information.

It wasn't a test about how much it costs. It was a range test and the Silverado put up a number that is WAY above and beyond any other electric tow vehicle so far.

There are so many changing method options out there are wildly varying rates that it's not worth comparing $ per mile in most situations.

This was great to watch though as it gives an idea what they new electric Escalade/Suburban will do when they are out since they are using the same platform and drive train.

I agree with a 200 KW battery it's going to go further than vehicles with smaller batteries but since they did talk about the cost I just wanted to correct the error that it's not cheaper unless your electricity is cheaper and you can recharge cheaper than most stations that are available on the road.

LA to Havasu is still out of reach unless you pay retail for charging.

Ill do a charging, charging time and range towing to the river and back when our Denali version of this truck arrives. It'll have considerable more power and less range than the Silverado in the video, but maybe the more power will figure into the numbers in a positive way. Maybe. The Denali is supposed to have more battery as well.

Wife and her GF's rent Porsche Taycans in Switzerland & Germany. Taycan has 2 speed transmissions on the motors. The girls say "Kind'a clunky when they shift" so's accommodate the autobahn speeds at 150+ MPH. Klunky may be German for ZF, it is in the USA.

USA will have the EV motor transmissions in trucks for more towing range are the tales around the EV forums and EV shows. We'll see.

The Krauts have the charging stations down. Stations are off every off ramp and in every town and along desolate roads and areas. Most have trailer pull thrus too.

It's the towing access at the charger and encountering broken chargers that will be the issue. Bringing along a 240 V generator in the bed of the truck will be essential.
