Man, we've been wanting to do this but it always falls on the same weekend as the Cig run in LOTO. Looks like another great run to Catalina!!

Sounds like the 37 ran liked a rape ape in the big blue Tony! 👍

My plans for that weekend cleared up a week before, but there were no hotels available on the island.:(

Looks like a nice trip.

Well I guess that answers my earlier questions regarding cats in the ocean.... maybe I don't see many in Newport simply cause folks are a bit sensitive to salt damage with Tony's artwork. Not to mention those Adrenaline trailers and what salt would do to them as well.

Was it a PITA to handle around docs, and trailer? Never had a boat that big.
No it handled really well around the docks. I actually felt it was easier to maneuver than our 27 with twins. I think it has to do with the electronic throttles in it. Trailering it, it's big, but we towed it back and forth to Mead every trip for 5+ years. The trailer tows really well and is really easy to work around the ramp.

Honestly, I really really really miss that boat!

The salt washes off and 99% of our customers would never put their boats in the salt water. The 37 was perfect out there. light and fast enough to make it there is about 30 minutes and around 35 miles from where we took off out of Newport.
The trailer is aluminum and is a MYCO with the DCB (west coast) upgrades done at Adrenaline.

Just a shame all those customers are missing out on the ocean experience. Its like owning a hyper car and keeping her in the garage. How can ya not run 'em

I would say it's like owning a hyper car and only running it on short tracks. Need to take it to the Nurburgring and let it rip once in awhile. 😁
Well you know to each their own and our boats are so nice, a lot of the owners think the ocean and the salt water will get into places that you can't clean... This is why these outboard boats are so versatile... It was great and looking forward to it again in October.

You are welcome to have it back with one new engine only selling because I bought another boat

Well, then they're not very good at cleaning. 😉 I do spend several hours in the engine compartment and cleaning the drives of our Fountain after every use. You have to commit time to the effort and the boat stays nice, the steel trailer on the other hand. 🤬

Keep me in mind Tony when you figure out October dates. Always wanted to do this.

One of the best vacations my wife and I ever had was a week in Catalina. We had my buddy’s 43’ twin diesel Viking. Got a mooring in Avalon and had a ball. We had a Zodiac for going ashore or just cruising the moorings in the evening with a cocktail. Hearing those Avalon chimes while slowly cruising thru the moorings in that Zodiac is one of the most peaceful settings I’ve ever experienced on the water. Some nights we’d get out of our bathing suits and go ashore, via water taxi, for a nice dinner. Hold it. That sounds a little weird. We’d go to town after getting dressed up a bit. Lol Other nights we’d grill something on the boat. During the day we’d cruise around the island. Trolled for Marlin and actually got bit off the east end/Slide area. Fortunately it got off after a few tail walks. Wife liked to fish for bass. Hard to find a better eating fish than a Catalina Calico Bass. Closest I’ve ever experienced to Catalina is the south coast of Crete, Greece. It’s thousands of miles away. Catalina isn’t.

I swore on my second boat I'd not allow myself to be so anal and just enjoy the thing rather than be such a clean freak. I'd say I did much better and wasn't such a slave to cleanliness on this last one. I never went into engine bay and for sure it showed.... Belt dust and whatever else collects down in there.... never effected the performance and I was much happier overall. It was a lesson in stress reduction.... and isn't that really what these toys are meant to do. That lesson took years to learn.

I understand what you're saying but, having spent years repairing boats for a living I much prefer a clean rust free bilge, spent enough time in the grease, oil and dirt.

Also, getting in and being anal (which I am) about cleaning I find things that need to be addressed such as a loose header bolt. When I got in there to tighten the header bolt I was using the aluminum water fitting attached to the headers for support and it broke apart in my hands. It had corroded from the inside, imagine if it or one of the other three that were in just as bad shape had burst apart while underway? Probably would have sunk the boat. Those fittings are stainless steel now.

Oh absolutely I get it and I didn't mean to imply you were being overly anal, lol..... to each their own on all this stuff for sure.
