Do you ever have your nav on heading somewhere and just when the guy on the radio leads up with “….and the guy said…” that’s when the nav voice kicks in and your saying to yourself “what’d he say???” And you say I wish there was a mute button for the nav voice.

Well, by accident I found that mute button. When you have the nav up and running you have a box that tells you how far to your next move. Just tap that box.

The box will shrink to this and now you’ve muted the nav voice.

To get the voice back just tap that button again.

If I don’t use the nav, I don’t use CarPlay. I don’t like the format and on my truck I lose the status bar at the top that has the temp and HVAC temp settings for each side.

You see in the upper right corner the speaker button with the alert sign? You can turn off/on nav audio there anytime.

Here is another CarPlay tip.

Never loan your wife’s car when she is out of town to a buddy in town who then takes it to a strip club.

It sends her a text on where “she” parked her car.

It’s an interesting conversation at dinner when she returns and then goes to dinner with you and your buddy.

How about when you switch your call to the iPhone for privacy, and after you end the call the radio remains muted? The only way I’ve found to fix it is starting a new call and switching it back to the vehicle speaker.

That speaker button isn’t there when the large box is up.

Any magical way to turn off the latest update alerts
disbale car ahead
tow truck ahead
etc….
its fine if you don’t drive much, but say going into LA drives me fukin nuts w alerts and if map is on when it alerts. You hit ok, normally back to previous screen, but if maps on it will go black screen. so you have to change screen to home etc and go back to maps. Hate it

you can go into the settings and pick which ones you want. I got tired of everyone reporting cars stopped to find out they were like 40 feet away from the road. People just trying to get points.

Iv turned every notification off, it’s a ram, in the latest ram update couple months ago, haven’t found a bypass yet

Apple car play captures all our dually's dash entertainment, Nav and other functions and makes it confusing and distracting to use, if at all.
I wish I could delete it.
Get rid of it.

I use Waze with my CarPlay. My cheap ass Hyundai didn't come with nav. (I was too cheap to get that package)

On real phones, you know Androids running google maps, there is just a little speaker button that is always on the screen for you

I think that's a function of Google Maps, not your cheap phone. My iPhone has the same feature when I'm running Google Maps or Apple Maps or Waze.
