Damn, sucks for the boys in blue.

So glad I left that shithole.

Trump should put a policy if you loose your pension over this then he will pay for it somehow. Call it ta. Write off.

What he should do is pull all CA funding that isn’t essential

This country is in the middle of a Civil War that it doesn’t know it’s fighting. This isn’t the musket and cannonball type Civil War we all think of when the term is used. This is the new version of Civil War where politicians are actively engaging in war on its own citizens.

I guess these days court rulings and laws don’t mean shit. If a state doesn’t like it they just defy it

I guess why not nothings going to be done about it.

Highly doubtful this will come to fruition. Besides the obvious legal challenges it won’t prevail upon, there are already numerous examples of LEO getting their pensions even after being convicted of Felony Murder. Here is just one :

In addition to building the border wall, maybe Trump can get the Army Corps of Engineers to dig a shallow trench all the way around CA’s borders and let seawater in so that CA becomes “an island” at which point Trump can state that what happens in CA stays in CA but if it crosses the moat into Free America its going to get deported back to the CSSR.

Take their pension. . . .

Yea, lets see how that works California.

A pension ain't like a 401K or IRA. Its a promise to pay.

Be one hell of a law suit if they even tried.

I love how all these libbie governors are COMPLETELY forgetting that the enforcement of immigration law has already been litigated by the high court and it is been decided that it is wholly the Federal Government's job to enforce. The states may assist if they chose, but they cannot impede.

Seems the only thing that can't be ignored by LE is citizens taking their own action against those that wrong them.....But LE seems to have their hands tied in helping those who get wronged.....

There will be a "come to Jesus" soon I predict. I'm about fucking done with it. Leaving the state doesn't solve any problems....staying here and being a bigger asshole might.

Unfortunately, it might start with normally law abiding people causing mayhem to the bleeding heart liberals until their minds change....I can't see any other way to get these fucking cat people to snap into reality. Maybe if they lose enough their threshold of "compassion" will adjust

I’m no law scholar here so someone help me understand this.
Where’s @530RL he has a good understanding of legal procedure😎

To be charged with a felony wouldn’t the officers or deputy or Patrolman have to be arrested?

Couldn’t or wouldn’t the best reaction if they start doing this is the government charge the city/county DA that filed charges against the LE?
Federal charges, obstruction of justice, aiding and abbeting fugitives, and what ever else they can attach to charging LE with assisting federal agents in the line of duty.
And could Gavin be charged as well?

They say the heft of WWIII will be fought with ones and zeros. The Civil War has been ongoing, but with different numbers. Bank accounts are siezed, but for most, they are just constantly bled. Taxes obviously, but fees and permits, the costs of living, everyone is involved, but some fail to see it.

Not only arrested, but convicted by a jury trial as well. Unlike some prosecutors, jurors are very sympathetic to LE. All a defense attorney would have to do is just remind everyone that all LEO swear to uphold the constitution of the United States. Good luck trying to jail a cop and take away his promised compensation for “enforcing the law”.

I really hope we don't have to test this theory. There are a lot of stupid people though. I can't see them risking a trial though. They would be stepping on laws to reach that point anyway, they'd figure some kangaroo court way of "conviction"

This is a giant hypothetical that California is going to start arresting officers and taking away their pensions. Hasn't happened yet and I doubt it has any real chance of happening in the future. And to your point, there is all sorts of due process before anyone would lose their job or pensions.

Officers follow guidelines and policies. As long as they do so, they have all sorts of protections, indemnities and immunities both under federal, state and local law.

On your last point, immigration law and immigration enforcement is the responsibility of the Federal Government and Federal Law pre-empts state law on immigration matters. See Arizona V. United States.

Cities and states can certainly help if they would like, and/or the federal government requests help, and such request is not a violation of state law. But states and cities have no obligation under federal law or the Constitution to do so. They have a right to stand down if they so choose and the voters get to address that at the next local election. That whole states rights thing works both ways.

The answer is to self deport. It worked naturally during the recession

January 21st:

All snap and welfare stop
All cell phones stop
All rent/ hotel payments stop
All health coverage stops
A 3 month notice to employers to prepare for consequences of hiring illegals.
Notice to all illegals that if they self deport they can get in line to come back. Get arrested here illegally then they are banned from USA for life.
Any state with a city harboring illegals have their fed funds cut to zero.
Implement heavy penalties, tariffs, aid etc. against Mexico for facilitating movement of illegals.

Cant work, no freebies, no where to go but home.

This would never pass a court challenge. Federal supersedes state law.

And Rand Paul has already called him out.

Just listening on the radio today, one of the former candidates running against him last year is already planning a recall petition. They need 22,000 signatures.

What about the California politicians floating giving cops, Firefighters and Educators Social Security?
You can still collect SS with a pension if you worked two different jobs. Public/private. Your SS gets whacked because of WEP.

I have a state of Colorado pension due me. My SS will get dinged because of the "windfall" clause (WEP) that was started in 1983. My SS will get dinged because of my pension.

The house just passed a bill (HR82) to eliminate the WEP. It goes to the senate next. It eliminates the WEP provision.

I worked both the public & private sector. Why the hell should my SS get dinged??? I paid into it. I earned it.

If you started as a public service employee and had zero private job earnings, your SS would be minimal.

I worked 20+ years in the public sector. Paid into SS all that time. Took a public sector job and got a pension instead of paying SS.

You God-damn right I want both!!!! I friggin paid into it!!! Right now, I'm getting fucked on what I paid into SS.

No state "Law" should be allowed to conflict with the constitution but also anything not specified in the constitution should be the responsibility of the state.

Governors should be charged Federally if they order what is basically an insurrection.

The problem with cutting off their snap, welfare, rent, etc. is we’d have millions of suddenly desperate people, and American citizens would be impacted by the resulting rise in crime. As much as I hate to see taxpayers burdened by it, I think it’d be better to leave the ridiculous benefits in place until they’re rounded up. Of course, if they attempt to evade arrest and deportation when their number comes up, everything stops.

I agree with the rest of it.

Due to the reality that we are heavily invested in construction and agriculture, we are audited frequently by the DOL and if you knowingly hire illegals the fines are in the hundreds of thousands of dollars as well as criminal prosecution. They don’t fuck around regardless of the administration.

The problem is that even if you follow the law and Everify all your employees as required, the federal system is inaccurate.

So no fines, but you lose a lot of employees during audits.

But to think any large employer is knowingly hiring without subjecting them to Everify, is not true. The consequences are serious and will bankrupt your business.

I would add self deportation, volutary deportion with identification, should start the legal application for citizenship (Back of the line) but anyone caught and deported should have a lifetime ban for citizenship.

It’s rampant in the construction industry and rampant in many other industries.

My girlfriend is an executive for a very large payroll firm and consults within the industry as well. I think you would be surprised at how often she catches this shit.

The caveat is the crime has to be committed in the course of their duties. Off duty or non-job related criminal offenses don’t remove the pension benefits, to the best of my knowledge.

Not that it applies to this thread specifically but was listening to this female comedian today while I was working in my garage.

She went on this tangent about liberals.

She then starts telling the crowd how ironic it was that when the North was advocating to abolish slavery the message was, “who is going to pick the cotton and work the fields and clean your homes?”

Fast forward to liberals today talking about the illegal aliens and it’s the same message, “who’s going to work the agriculture and clean your homes in a mass deportation?”

I was crying I was laughing so hard 😂

China, India and Pakistan produce about 60% of all Cotton in the world today replacing American leadership in Cotton decades ago.

Foreign countries certainly have the ability and capital to replace US based agriculture if US policy is to limit labor resulting in a reduction in US output.

With respect to the maid issue......

Some people want to argue we should produce everything here and not import even though it might be faster and cheaper to import.

The political narrative is sometimes contradictory in its goals and objectives.
