Besides using muriatic acid, what do you use to get the calcium deposits off your props and make them shine again?

Nothing I have tried so far will touch this. I can take my finger nail and scratch it off. Actually did clean the backside of two blades this way, but it takes a long time. This prop was run at Havasu until I bought it. Looking last night and found Flitz Instant Calcium, Rust and Lime Cleaner. Anyone tried this stuff? Would toilet bowl cleaner work?

I use the Lime Away gel with a pair of rubber dish gloves that have nubs/scrubbing bumps.

Will take all of that of really easy. Without destroying your hands.

Blue sos pads and water. It’ll come clean in a few minutes of elbow grease

Anything with a little phosphoric acid will work if it’s actually calcium build up. Wear gloves. CLR, Lime Away, etc.

We have a winner. Tried CLR and it didn't do squat. Picked up some Lime-Away. Got it back out and gave it a shot. Holy crap!!!! That stuff cleaned it up almost instantly. It looks almost new again. It also took off some of the black paint in the Bravo 1 logo, but that is not a big deal. Polished it up and it's ready to sell.

Thanks to all of you, especially the sand polishers. LOL....

so is the prop for sale since this is posted in the for sale section? I'll start the offers at $1 and a bag of cool ranch dorritos.

Ka0tyk - Yes, it is.... I might have entertained the offer, had put up Cheetos Puffs. I just wanted to clean it up before it goes to a new owner.

Why didn't you want to use muriatic acid?
No real reason, just thought is might be too corrosive (to the finish) to use straight. Ate up my garage floor (etched it) when I used it years ago.

We use it all the time to clean hard water off props and stainless hardware.

Ok, thanks. When I bought my boat, prop had lots of buildup on it. I mentioned it, and guy at shop poured muriatic acid on it. It cleaned it, but also dulled it out. Maybe it was just that particular prop, but haven't tried it since. Just my bad luck I guess.
