they are offering them at the dealer now when you buy a new car if the car is stolen you can call them up and they can change the license plate to read stolen and automatically alerts local pd in the area

Great, now on top of texting drivers will be reading everyones license plates.

LOL they act like the cops will actually come out and chase the guy to get your car back.

The battery-powered plates can be purchased with monthly rates for battery-powered plates at $19.95 per month and yearly rates at $215.40 a year for a four year agreement.

The wired plates run $24.95 for 48 months and $275.40 if paid yearly for commercial vehicles.

Yea, how many are going to step up to this along with the $800 to buy it.

Built in tracking!?!? Nope! This is yet another way for the Gov to track and ultimately penalize for traffic violations and registration dues. They can try to pretty it up saying these will eliminate waiting in line at the DMV but we know what the real reasoning behind this is.

How would you turn in plates? What if your insurance lapses. It’s so the boarder jumpers don’t have to steel a plate they just see a Toyota go buy and copy the plate number

Does that include Internet/cellular connectivity or is that just another charge so you can drive a fancy license plate?🤣

Why is a wired plate more?

Does it turn off if the car battery gets low like a dash cam does?

What batteries do the battery plates take, how many and how long do they last.

Do I need to replace the batteries myself or is that included in the $20/mo

How many batteries will this add to the environment once rolled out?

How does it connect to the internet or gps?

Leave it to a government to take something so simple as a metal license plate and turn it into a maintenance and technology cluster fuck. I’m sure after it makes the MVD 50% more productive there will be layoffs lol. Nope they will need to hire a whole new division of technical support for a fucking license plate.

This is more big-brother type crap...I don't want any part of the clowns at DMV touching my license plate in real time. No thanks!

So, pay more money for registration.... Uh, no thanks. Why the heck should I pay more money for someone who can't do their job that I'm paying for in the first place?

until you realize your medical and social media info is connected..........uh oh

any tracking is not bad on the surface........till they link everything, and use it for "not for purposes", which it always does

give the powers that be a way to abuse, they will......

it's coming, a one size fits all credit system..........social, medical, physical...
one stop all info for you........once thought of as a conspiracy, but it is coming

This could also be the beginning of how they can track peoples driving and bill you for the miles you drive. I recall reading something about charging people by the amount of miles they drive per year in California. Sadly its only going to get worse in this state.

This will definitely become the must have trendy item for Tesla and Prius drivers.

Voluntarily paying more money for something with no value added. That along with their $10 vanillamochacrapachino. It's a license plate. It serves one purpose.... Digital, metal, sticker whatever... one purpose....

So the new prank will be to remove someone’s digital plate and tape it under a semi and watch for them to get their mileage bill?

Hey so...

What happens when you turn your car off?

What happens if the battery goes dead?

What does it do in the day vs. the night?

Does it have a dark mode?

What if someone hits it with a hammer and shit?

So many questions!?!?!?! 😁

Exactly. Alexa isn’t always listening and your phone doesn’t always show where you’re at.😉

Yet when you turn your phone back on, messages are waiting for you…
