Spent all day getting boat ready for Lahontan tomorrow. Went to check oil and this happened. Broke dipstick right at O ring. 😡 If I try to put the dipstick back in it will fall into hole and won't be able to get it out. I tried inserting the loop handle part but it is loose and will blow out. No way am I going to be able to find another dipstick at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend.

So now what? I'm afraid if I run it like it is it will blow oil all over the engine. Maybe wrap a little tape around the loop handle piece and see if it stays in? Wouldn't want tape to come off and fall into engine though.

Just put a Bloch of Silicone in the hole and replace later. Drag boats change their oil all the time. A lot of time, they just silicone over the hole.

Couple zip ties would hold the looped piece in.
One around tube, other through loop then back through loop after it's strapped down.

I say hose clamp a Magnum Condom on it then it will act as a blow by gauge as it inflates. It’s a win win situation.

Thanks for all the replies. I fixed it Friday night and was on the water all day yesterday. Met up with some locals on Lahontan which I've never been to before. Nice lake and much bigger than Topaz which is close to me (15 minutes). Lahontan is about an hour drive. I checked it out on Google Earth and it's about 15 miles from one end to the other. Lots of trees around and nice coves to hang out in. I was surprised that it wasn't crowded at all. Seems like there were only 30 boats on the whole lake (that's counting PWCs too).

Boat ran great with no issues. Not as fast as I'm used to but in a little boat like this, slow seems fast. 😁 There were some nice boats in the group. I'm wishing I hadn't sold my Formula now because it would have been a great boat for this lake. I might have to start looking for a bigger boat again! 🤪😝
