Usually I launch from springs and head up river to Pirates. Want to change it up and go the other route. Is this possible? Shallow sections? How long would it take if cruising at 60?
Thanks guys.

What kind of boat, and when? I used to go Needles to Laughlin. Water used to be higher in the summer, but been pretty high for a year now. Some real pucker moments just south of Avi and some more up around the south end of Bullhead. Not bad in a jet though, but the outdrive and my skill level made it tough.
It's been years since I did it though. Very doable, I didn't even trash my prop, so somebody that is decent should be fine.

20ft boat with a jack plate. So prop should be pretty high. This would be mid summer so around August.

I just ran my 21' Shockwave I/O Saturday from Bullhead down to Pirates meetup and down to the Channel and back.. As long as Davis Dam has 3+ units coming out no problem. Once you hug the left side of the island in Bullhead then stay to the right, you will see some rock jettys come out and follow the water ripple. As soon as you get to AVI bridge hang to the left the rest of the way till you get to the needles bridge.

Maybe this summer we can organize an upper river run... Some of the best water is above AVI

Count me in. Some of my favorite boating is between Pirates and that bridge. GREAT boating and even better beaches.

As long as you can cross the gauntlet by the park in Bullhead! That's some crazy stuff right there. The area about a mile or two north of Avi used to be where we'd go find a beach...10 or 12 years ago.

Hopes and dreams!

I’ve seen big skaters and shit roll past the needles bridge plenty. We stayed up in bullhead just down from rotary park and a Doug Wright And a big eliminator blasted past heading for Laughlin then ran back down about 30 later.

I’ve talked to people that run their inboard boats up to Laughlin and say it’s no big deal but there’s a couple spots you need to know where the sand bars are. I won’t go past needles bridge going up river. Don’t know it well enough. I don’t think I’d have a problem in an outboard boat though. Stay in the center and stay on plane.

Im Gonna get Dan up tiger from pirates next weekend though! 😁 get him to at least needles bridge.

He needs some more river exposure.

Back bay near Big Bend park north of Avi is a cool place to hang out when the waters warm, we will be there early May with SoCalJetBoats. Lazy Harry's is a cool place to stop and grab a beer and burger also. Avi has a nice sandy beach in a cove out of the current, pic of my Sprint (blue and white one) with us hanging out at Avi

How long have you had this? Did you buy it from a guy named Steve by chance?

We made the run with Paul and @SJP last year. 👍🏻
Pretty sure I saw you guys. The two boats ran up to Laughlin and back to havasu right? We were in bullhead at the time. Just missed getting video (both times 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️)
