What’s everyone running these days?

Dammm. How did they get so expensive?

I’m looking for a couple short stubbies in red or multi color ….

Made my own.

It can be solid color(s), blinky, chase, etc. by remote.
Don't think I spent more than $30-40 to make it.

Jc whips n shyt.

Nice base on them lots of color options and stands behind his products.

I had 5150 before magnetic base but was beginning to splinter near base. And new ownership warranty work wasn’t as simple vs when Andrew owned it.

Buggy whips for the RZR. They just won’t break. We have 6ft that are mounted on the top of the cage. My husband usually leads in Glamis and he wants the tallest ones available to hopefully be seen. I have seen them fully bend in half on the whoops and just not snap. Im fully sold on them, but they are so pricey.

Had 5150 whips that came with the RZR short out after a witches eyes. But, hear good things about them. Could have been wiring from previous owner. The warranty applies to the original owner. They were going to let us exchange them, but you aren’t allowed to drop off and pick up. So shipping was going to be close to a set. Not sure if they changed that policy.

RLB whips for the Yxz. So far so good, they are on sale right now. Just couldn’t afford another set of buggy whips.

I have 5150. Their warranty was great when Andy owned it. Don't know how it is now.
I broke both when the car went on its lid and he fixed both under warranty.

5150 here on my stuff.

I bought some cheap amazon ones for my kids quad. 1st one snapped at the base because my wife leaned against it. Didn't put that much pressue on it and it just snapped. Bought another one to replace it and after 6 months the lights stoped changing colors for 4 trips. It still lit up but was stuck on orange. Last trip it was working as normal. Don't know why it wasn't working and is now working. I am going to replace it before this season starts. I am not impressed with the Chinese copy's.

I have 5150 on my Talon and Whip Tech on my golf cart.....can't complain about either...before I got the Talon I used Whip Tech for everything, the owner lives here in Canyon Lake and is super cool...I have lost or broke a handful of remotes and I will just call him up and he hands me a new one...one of my whips on the golfcart was a first gen model and it was acting funny, so he took it off and replaced it with a newer model...great dude.

I shy away from leading but I do pick a nice line so from time to time I take the duty. I just dumped my 6’ amazon whips for an 8’ buggy whip. That thing hurt to pay for but it stands really tall and is easy to see. Worth it IMO

When putting the RangerCrew together I was going with a couple whips from Quicklights, I had seen them on a TMW build and really liked the hardware and the ability to swap them with other sizes and a small lit dust cover. I was led to believe that it wasn’t compatible with my system (not really the case, might have been more of unfamiliarity).

Anyway, all good in the end as I was led to go with SafeGlow and couldn’t be happier, they have worked out great. I have had great customer service when needed. I run two 3 foot whips when looking for high visibility and a couple of short 1 footers normally. I am able to change a brightness, colors, and flash by connecting thru bluetooth. 👍👍

I like the magnetic base of the 5150 whips, I have daytime whips that are just regular fiberglass, then the lighted whips for the night....night rides are usually a lot shorter and slower then day time rides, so no need to beat up the lighted whips in the day..

They all come from China! I just bought the spiral LED ones from eBay. I honestly think the larger companies buy them from China and charge the markup, but they do provide warranty which you will not get from eBay.

Did you have to order those?
They only show 4' and 6' on the website.

I have a pair of their 4'ers but would like a set of 1' whips also.

Maybe I misunderstood Cam's post but I took it he bought 3' and 1' from Safeglow.
I already have their base mounts in place.

I don’t believe Safeglo offers the short ones as you indicated. He mentioned Quickwhips. They offer long and short.

5150 offers 2, 4 and 6 foot lengths.

Please school me on the purpose of an 8-inch whip ...

Tall ones get broken off. You don’t really need a 6 foot lighted whip when you have bumper and chase lights and not playing in the sandbox.

Why run one at all if you have a chase light / dust light?

I know the answer.....mo bling

To keep dirt out of the mount. 🤣 For bling yes, but honestly sometimes it’s nice to have a little light on when the car is parked somewhere at night. The dust light can pull a lot of juice, be too bright, or flash annoyingly.

The tall whip is too much, a little one would be enough light to get a drink out of the cooler without fumbling around.

I just run caps on my whip bases most of the time. The 2’ ones do clear the garage, which is nice.

there’s two people that lead in our rides usually. Very worth it to be seen. They are so bright at night. I know return policies are great with other brands, but I like that these just don’t break to need to return them.

I like 5150, the hyper whips are bright as fuck.. I went single color (white) but I almost went with Marshan(?) whips.

I like the 5150 base / mount the most. Can swap them out to day whips with flags n shit.

I went with the 4 footers cuz the car is already so damn tall.

I had Safeglow on my last car. 5150’s on this one. Both sets have been trouble free.

I know nothing about these gay light sticks that sand dudes run... I'm a fan of dirt.... but does anyone remember the real Buggy Whip?

Was a gem in my hood in LA. I used to take dates their all the time and they'd take me home for desert.

I went on a date there a few days before it closed for the last time New owner tore it down and build a Senior Care Center of some sort on the property.

5150's with the magnetic base. They survived a drive into the garage when I forgot to take them off.
