I’d like to know when the corporate advertising strategy shifted from sponsorships to backing influencers.

If you wanted their money you had to play by their rules. And usually you were contractually obligated to follow the rules.

Everyone dropped Tiger at the drop of a hat for a sex scandal between consenting adults.

Now billion dollar corporations are putting their money and reputation behind wild cards.

As a former ad guy, it was a decade ago.
It was dumb then, and it’s still dumb.

Interesting what grows legs sometimes, I was thinking about this and Jim and Tammy Fay Baker (sp) came to mind. People that didn't know a thing about those people wanted them to die a gruesome death.
Took the guys out and the mere mention of he will have a Bud Light brought laughter from the crew and the server, I don't see AB shaking this one anytime soon.

Uhh… Per Clank Just a couple posts ago? Ya know the guy that is a higher up in the beer industry? Works directly with the people you are talking about? Go read his post in its entirety.. maybe read it three or four times since you have a hard time with Comprehension?

Post 1362. (This is a portion of it)

So the facts are…
One can
One post
No contract or financial compensation of any kind.

VP in charge of bud light on leave(already replaced)
Her boss fired
Multiple people that made the decision fired
No free beer for distributors
AB to send 500.00 to each front line worker(driver, sales rep, merchandiser) for what they’ve been put through. No compensation to Management personnel.

“Paid partnership with bud light” …….

So maybe some of your facts are wrong?

White noise to the mob.
You pointed out that a ship does not make course corrections instantaneously.
Well, this is what social uprising really looks like.
You can call them (us) sheep or whatever other adjectives you wish, but this is what social media reaction delivers.
One mistake, whether valid or not, can bring the wrath of the mob.
They’re called “influencers”….be careful of that influence.
RDP is the brand on which all your endeavors have root.

From CEO interview portion at earnings call. While not helping distributors, assistance to those employees

To help repair those relationships and begin to rebuild the Bud Light brand, Anheuser-Busch is planning to invest funds in supporting distributors who handle the Bud Light brand.

"We are providing direct financial support to the frontline teams that work for us and our wholesalers," Doukeris said. The Wall Street Journal reported that AB InBev CEO Michel Doukeris said in an interview the company is paying $500 bonuses to each of the delivery drivers, sales representatives and other distributor employees who work with the Bud Light brand.

Yet he was drinkin beers next to ru Paul the most famous drag queen in the world earlier..

This is what I’m asking.. is he ok with drag but not tranny? Is he mad because it was this tranny?

Where is the line right now, because it’s kind of all over the board?

We hate all trannys? Well except the one with a k boat..

We hate all gays?? Well except that most of us have gay friends that don’t support woke causes so they are ok..

We hate all drag queens?? Well except the ones that tank and I goto their bar and he has them stay at his house..

I’d get on board with the idea that I don’t give a rats ass what anyone does as an adult l, but can we keep it out of schools and kids?

I’d get on board that if you want america to “look like america” as Biden says.. why are all tv commercials and shows promoting small %’s of the population as the only thing that exists?

I’d get on board with equal rights NOT SPECIAL RIGHTS..

I’d also get on board with making ESG and this DEI thing completely illegal.

If we are being honest though I’d get on board with a lot of things, I could never say in polite company.. I weep for our future, and I question as a whole of this ship we are on could ever be righted..

Here’s a real Question though is the lounge of rdp the last place on the internet to do it? Are we actually going to solve any problems by bitching about it on here?

Or are taking a site that is designed to let people escape from work for a few minutes a day to share and enjoy custom builds and vacation trips and turning it into the last stand.. lol. And if so what would we accomplish?

Large orange font and was that guy and Danger Dave didn’t get target by BLM.. I did..

None of those guys got targeted by special interest groups.. I did..

None of them got shadow banned by google and YouTube to “teach me a lesson”. I did..

So I question in their Nobel efforts of supposedly standing up for their beliefs (by posting on a message board about good times) what did any of them really accomplish other than making themselves feel good while I take the hits?

Why don’t some of you guys riddle me that.

Ru Paul is fucking hilarious. I saw one of his shows decades ago, and I freaking laughed my ass off!

He's now 62 years old. He started his show in 1982. He's been around a long time.

But ya know what?

Never did he try and play his show to minors. It's always been an adult only show. All this pandering to kid stuff is brand new.

Fuck these assholes pandering to kids. They really should be put down.

Problem is, it's all on the Internet now, and PARENTS are putting phones in their kids hands in grammar school now days, and there is no way to turn back that clock.

So if even one parent reading this shit, makes the decision to keep their kid preoccupied with something other than the Internet? Then this thread will be worth it. 👍🏼

What positions have changed?

My very first post in this thread thought it was a gross overreaction for 1 can.. Same thing I have been saying the entire time.

Only the sheep believe that. Anyone that can read what has been published and can think for themselves sees a different picture.

BL won't recover in my opinion. Both sides are over it now. Maybe a lesson to corporations to stay out of politics and social issues. It is really unfortunate for everyone from distributors down.

Im on the other side.. if it stays $15 a case people will mostly forget by Labor Day.

But the whole thing isnt really about one can , Its about a movment to try to represent a small minority of people as being a much larger , more influential group than there really are , Its a political agenda to further break down traditional society

I get it and I’m 100% on board with that. I am just asking why AB has to be the mascot when companies like Nike are overtly promoting and pushing those agendas?

I think anyone encouraging this stuff towards kids should be strung up in Times Square

Just happened to be bad timing and a demographic that does not stand for this at all...It's a blue-collar/event beer.

People are tired of it being pushed on them.

Nike is much different.

My guess is because Nike has incrementally edged more and more in that direction for decades. So they aren't really alienating their customer base, which i would guess is also moreso left skewing.

Domestic Light Beer (of almost any brand) is a male dominated, blue collar dominated, and to a certain extent conservative dominated segment of the market. So a much larger percentage of Budweiser's customers took this more personally, compared to Nike customer's who are just like "so what" 🤷‍♂️

100% agree BUT those companies do not have the strong following of NON woke leaning people , honestly same as here Imaging this site was under "attack" by membership and or sponsors and knowing the RDP demographics of Right leaning, pro law enforcement , God, Guns ,guts and performance boats the response that would occur Same Goes for many other entities that resist or that have a following like yours

Because not only was "Joe Six Pack" not Nike's lead customer demographic, they weren't even a target audience.

Guess who's Bud Light's core demographic?

Well, it is possible everyone has forgotten Nike's support of the Kneelers although more likely a good number of their customers walked away and never returned.
We're further down the Fuck America and everything normal road now and people are fucking fed up with it. There's also the fact that people never bought cases of Nikes every week.

If Coors, Miller, etc. are smart, and I assume they are, they'll price match or get within a couple dollars and capitalize on the anti BL trend to keep this from happening too quickly.

I’m willing to bet budlight is moving the product pretty dam close to a loss at that price just to keep it from TRANSITIONING to spoiled beer. 🤣

Besides, I think Coors is 20.99 for a 30 pack at most grocery stores.

Nike demographic doesn’t care.
Bud light demographic does care.
I think it’s that simple.
Nike is all about championing over paid athletes and Kaepernick
Bud light was all about Clydesdales and the working man.

You throw that dynamite into the Nike pond it just fizzles out.
They threw it into the BL pond and it was Hiroshima.
