Rad.
My neighbors wife does that too . . . they have a piano in their house . . . sometimes I'll be walking the dog by their house & I hear her belting away singing & playing piano . . . it's pretty rad.
It's funny cause they're sort of an 'odd couple' . . . he's super quiet & she's a total jabber jaw cut-up.

There was a girl at a bar I used to frequent in Montclair. Dive bar...not the greatest of places. She was the singer in a garage band, but bartender to pay the bills. When the juke box was quiet, she could belt out anything Patsy Kline or Crystal Gail...which seemed out of place for the singer in a rock band that looked more Marilyn Manson. She grew up with her grandma, and could sing 40's swing and 50's bubblegum. Really talented.

My daughter is an amazing singer. She was in all the plays, choir, and such and just blew our minds away. I can hear her sing at any moment when she’s home. I just love it. She’s an old soul and you can feel it through her singing.

Middle daughters Husbands mother (whatever that makes her to me) has dementia, she now often and for no apparent reason
breaks out into song. She has a nice voice, but never did this before the dementia set in.... Story goes she always wanted to be a singer.
Songs can carry strong memories. She may not remember much, but she can obviously remember lyrics. Maybe behind the songs, are flickers of memories she has. Maybe she can no longer convey some thoughts or memories, but the songs are soundtracks for things only she knows now. The brighter side of grey maybe?

This is the typical response I get if I sing around the house

Grew up with a baby grand in the living room. My mom was a classically trained pianist and vocalist.
When we were kids the mother kids in the hood would ask why my had the radio so loud.
I’d tell them that’s my mom and they wouldn’t believe me me so I’d have to take them in the house and show them.😢
