Nice. That's some nice wall art. I had a Roskopp w/ Indys and YOYO's. Wish I still had my Dogtown Muir design.

Have you seen the boards that Maherajah (as in water skis) is putting out again now, along with new designs? Bob was actually at the Parker ski races last weekend, only got to say hello in passing.

Those maharajah boards are sweet. I may have to look into picking one up too. ;)

Rvr, they actually make the rob roskopp II reissued board. I'll buy one later. I had it up on my "to buy cart" as well as a slash board but the total was 500 bucks and I just couldn't justify it :D

Plan on buying those two later.

OS, they're also making some dog town reissued boards. Don't know of they're making that board but there's a few DT reissues.

Ha! Old school? Anyone remember Black Knight?...3/4 inch pine board with sheet metal trucks and rock wheels. Of course I couldn't leave shit alone, put some chicago trucks on it from a pair of roller skates, then urethane (open bearing) wheels when they came out.

I still have my Oak board with the Maha rubber tip, Gullwing !V trucks and Krytonics wheels...

Hey man, I said old school, not ancient! Lol. ;)

Seriously though, I do remember seeing them as a kid but this was in the 80's and these boards (above) were the shit. Every kid wanted one. My mom had 3 jobs to support me and my sister so I couldn't afford a new skate. Got buddies hand-me downs or off brands which I was thrilled to have. Kids Dow the street built (what seemed to be) a giant half pipe with roll in and all. It was bad ass.

Love it bro. I remember those days. I was poor also and my mom couldn't afford much for us either. My brother in law at the time bought me a Vision Psycho Stick. I was excited as all hell!

You might need to pick up a pair of these also since they reissued them!

Wow. This brings back some memories for sure. I've still got a couple of my old Tony Hawk boards from way back. One is a little beat but the other is like new. Glad I've hung onto them.

Hold onto them. I've seen originals going for upwards of $500!

The first wood deck that I had, if I remember correctly, was a Sims Pure Juice. It seemed 3/4 inch thick and had grooved grap rails in it. Those Maja long boards are sweet. My next board will be a big carving board with rubber wheels.

My first skateboard was a banzai, made out of aluminum. After that I moved to a Sims LaMar with independent trucks.

The dog town reissue art is pretty bad ass. I was bidding on a little newer school mystery death mask skateboards that I didn't win but really wish I did. The art on them was f*ckin' killer! Two boards put together made a full death mask with opposite white and black coloring. Sick! I was actually going to hang them in my living room!

the design is by V. Courtlandt Johnson, was originally a Ray "Bones" Rodriguez logo, 1st edition 1978. The continued that print on many boards through the years

When I was in Santa Cruz last year I stopped in Santa Cruz Skates looking for a Santa Monica Airlines sticker (no luck) and stayed and chatted with the owner about his collection of ORIGINAL mostly unused old school decks. Talk about a trip down memory lane. He had every deck I ever wanted as a kid. This was just a few of what he had. He estimated his collection at about $400,000 :eek

watch this film, its in 5 parts. Worth a watch, heavy on god but its a harsh reality on some of the old skaters we idolized....I had no idea Bruce Logan took was so messed up. Being in and around Encinitas for 40 years its crazy to see to fall of these guys right in my back yard

Somewhere at my parents house I have an original Powell Peralta Steve Caballero board, complete with trucks and some ramp wheels. I cant for the life of me find it.....Im starting to get worried my mom got rid of it. She swears she didn't so Im still hopeful. I also might have a Steve Schneer deck thats cracked but it would be a good wall hanger.

I dont think so, there are stories in all sports of rises and falls. Most of us skated because we never really fit in some how. Or we didnt conform to all the rules. There are messed up skaters today, with big bank accounts we just dont see it since we arent skating everyday. A good pro now has a agent/manager helping them with finances, the guys before never had that. For Logan I think he just lost it, skating died and he had no where to go. I know he is still in Encinitas and producing Tees and retro Loagn Earth Ski swag. I see Hosoi a few times a year, either at the Y in Encinitas or the Pro Tec Pool Party which is coming up.
Tony has made his millions, never went to drugs, but he has had 4 or 5 wives, some would fault him for that.

You really want to see a interesting guy, watch videos on Rodney Mullen, he has influenced skating more than any single human

A buddy uses his board to get around in Toronto.
He strapped his GoPro HD to a bracket behind the front wheels.
REALLY cool....

Here are some pics i took last year at our local skatepark in upland, we'll start with Salba because he is local and spearheaded the design of the new park. I have no idea how he was able to get the local powers that be to get behind this design, personally I dont think they had a fucking clue how extreme this park is LOL Most of the time its just kids floundering around but the big boys do show up and session the fuck out of it.
