Made the run up to the Boriana Mine today. This time we did it up from Alamo Rd/Yucca. Much easier than our previous trip over the Hualapai Mountains from Kingman. Beautiful day. Never saw another vehicle once we got off-road.

Are there still gold fish in the pond ? Have a place in the Hualapai's, and have done it both ways. Just went up and winterized the cabin this morning, as it is supposed to be 29* tonight. Was beautiful this A.M. but started to get windy around 9:30 this morning. The road form the mine to ,Kingman is pretty torn up. Not comfortable doing it in the Jeep right now.

Actually, we didn't look at the pond. There was water in the lower spring. Some water was even trickling down the stream. So, I assume there's still water and goldfish in the pond. Temp at the mine was 72 with very little wind. Perfect. Yes, that run over the top is bumpy. We did it early last year. Trail was torn up and very rocky in many spots. Much easier going today up the front side. Hualapais are beautiful. We like it when we see elk up top, miles from the park.

Left the mountain around 10:00 A.M. this morning and headed back to Parker. Lots of Elk in the neighborhood, and many around the lodge looking for a free meal. We feed the deer, but the Elk are getting pretty aggressive, they come right to our front door, and we cannot get out of the house. Have many river friends in the Hualapai's, love our cabin, but would like to get a four season place with a garage. Getting tired of the summers in Parker and think it would be a great place to retire. Would be nice to have a full time house in the mountains, and maybe a place in Meadview less than and hour away. There are only approx. 140 places in the Hualapai's, and it was developed by Bud Graham, who developed the Keys in Parker. In the late 60's, you could buy a lot in the keys and get a place in the mountains really cheap. Really great to leave Parker in the summer, and be in the pine trees in less than two hours.

My wife and I went with our neighbor September 23 and there were a ton of gold fish in the pond.

I haven’t been up there before and had no idea where we were headed but we had a blast, we had a really late lunch or more like an early dinner at the lodge. It’s a fun time and a great ride in the jeep!

Can you give me an idea of how to get to that area from Wayside/Browns crossing? I am familiar with all that. Spend lots of time in and around Date Creek/Alamo. Looks cool. I am assuming cross the river, sand and salt cedars, continue on towards Yucca?

Thank you.

Such a cool ride. We use to trailer up from our park in Blythe and unload at the Terrible's station at the 40/95. Shoot across the dez and head up the Mt and stay the night at the Hualapia Mt Resort. We would rent out all 8 rooms, GREAT destination ride. Haven't done it in 4 years, we were just talking about doing it this Spring or next Fall.

Going up the front side - From LHC I40 towards Kingman, exit at Cal-Ari (Golf Ball house) make immediate rt onto Alamo Rd. Take Alamo to Boriana Mine Rd. This route is well marked on most maps. 4 wheel drive is needed for the last 6 miles or so up to the mine. From the mine you can continue up and over the Hualapais, then and down to Kingman. This portion is a fairly long run over some steep and rockly trails.

We made the run from the Hualapai Lodge to the mine early this spring (2017). Seemed the significant winter weather had made the trail a bit more bumpy and a challanging slow go in some areas. We did this run by Jeep.

Thanks, Looks like a real haul from Alamo Lake side.
