I just watched The African Queen with Bogart and Katherine Hepburn. Old movies make me think of what it was back then. Seems like times were simple, not easy, but simple, less complicated.

We’ve been watching 80’s movies lately. Some are great and some are terrible which is what makes them great also lol.
Sometimes I regret watching movies that I thought were great as a kid. It’s even worse with TV shows from the 80’s. 😖

We watched “The secret of my success” a couple weeks ago and that was good with Michael J Fox. I love the 80’s movies with the hot 80’s babes in bikinis and this movie has that.

Watched “Repo Man” with Emilio Esteves and that was cool too. Very weird but still enjoyable with cocktails and a joint lol.

We watched “Heathers” with Christian Slater and 80’s babes and that was tolerable too.

I was born in Iran and came to the U.S. in 1989 (Detroit) so I didn’t watch a lot of movies as a kid. My wife has a list for me and we’re checking them all off. The samples above are just random ones not on her list.

I will take more suggestions lol

… haven’t watched many movies lately… But somehow stumbled on La Bamba and whatever that movie is about Miles Davis…
… La Bamba hits close to home… Particularly the part about the airplane crashing into the gym field at Pacoima junior high… Myself and a buddy rode our bicycles up there from North Hollywood and saw the carnage… Turns out some friends later in life lived two houses down from the gym field… And their yard was full of airplane pieces…
Ritchie Valens Used to go swimming the next block down from me… Us younger kids were not allowed to go swimming when he was there…🤷🏽‍♀️

Maximum overdrive

Horrible but great. Scared the shit out of me as a kid made me laugh outrageously as an adult

Had an extended family movie night last night at my brothers house. Sort of trying to introduce some good old flicks to the nieces & nephews. Last night was Princess Bride. I suggested Airplane and Blazing Saddles for the next one.
I hope my timid and proper mom gets to experience the fart scene. 😳😂

Can’t miss with those.

When was the last time you watched Airplane? I used to recommend it to the younger folks and ended up rewatching it myself only to realize that there's a lot of humor based on things going on at the time that they just won't get. One example being, "Jim never has a second cup at home". Still a great movie and a lot of great lines, but there's also a lot that would go over their heads.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I must have watched that at least 10 times when it originally appeared on HBO in the ‘70’s. I mean, what’s funnier than a Killer Rabbit or a guy getting his arms and legs chopped off and still spoiling for a fight?
