The "official rules" must be from a previous give away...

Prize:

Subject to a minimum of $500,000 in donation proceeds received during the Sweepstakes Entry Period, the Prize is either a Custom 1963 Split Window Corvette RestoMod plus $30,0000 or $100,000 in cash (“Prize”). In the event less than $500,000 in donation proceeds are received during the Sweepstakes Entry Period, the Sponsor will award 25% of the total donation proceeds to the qualified selected winner. As used herein, the term “total donation proceeds” means the gross proceeds received by the Sponsor from donations for Entries in the Sweepstakes. The determination by the Sponsor will be binding in all events other than a manifest error made by the Sponsor in the computation of the gross donations of the Sweepstakes.

We built that one for the same guy that we did the galaxie for. It was donated to Peterson along with the galaxie when he passed. The chevelle was pretty stupid. A brand new Ls9 crate engine that we put a nasty solid roller in and overdrove the blower. Thing was so responsive it was almost hard to drive. And yes i bought some raffle tickets for it.

And the sad part is we never really finished it as he passed before we were 100% done with it. The wheels were just something I had laying around. It was a real early LS9 and had the fabricated oil pan on it. They missed a weld somewhere as it leaked like a sieve especially after it sat. Hopefully they fixed that for me before I win it back.

I'm a nice guy and I didn't want to hurt anyone's chances on the Chevelle so I put my $ toward the silver Vette and the $30k in cash. That was my dad's dream car, I can't wait to see his face when I give it to him 👍

If you notice, I wasn't the one who posted it. I was being stingy and didn't want to many more entries. You know trying to keep the odds in my favor.

That would have required reading it. I gadiated from the Kalifucked up school system.
The "official rules" page has the amount below on both drawings. Not sure how that is going to work. Is this a combination thing?
out of $500,000
Donations Made
$172,300

I'm genuinely curious as to how these guys profit from these "sweepstakes" and or "giveaways".

I was seeing a giveaway on fb (which rooted out of IG) where they were giving away a new rzr, big 5thwheel rv and a F450 to pull it.. and it was some kinda random company called enthuzst.. or something like that? I'd wager heads up rdp does more swag then they do.. and there's no way we are giving away shit like that..

How do these things work?

I am sure their is a calculation and scam to go with this.

The "sweepstakes' in the original post is done by "Peterson Automotive Museum" a pretty reputable company as far as I know.
I did however look for the "official rules" out of habit and there seems to be some discrepancies. I am sure there are ways to do deep dives, or just donate some money and expect it to be just that a donation. lol

I just don't see how a swag company gives away shit of that value.. I do understand they are selling basically entry fee's (same as the other one) to do it, but still? what if they come up short? WTF? Is there some VC backing this?

It shows the entries must reach a given point for the drawing. Also shows it was donated to them so they’re out the 30k or 100k from the minimum buy in of 500k. Seems there’s plenty of profit sitting there.

What wheels did you have planned for the car, maybe we swap them out when I bring it back to you for the oil pan repair? 😎😎
