There was all these bangs earlier. Almost sounded like someone shooting a gun down there?

It’s definitely body beach and no structures. I have a friend in the fire dept, and he told me the fire boat is working it from the water side, but on land the plan is to let it just kind of burn itself out for now.

Security at the casino over here said that there was a homeless encampment where it started

Good lord, it was either head to the desert bar or go to body beach after we got off the lake yesterday, guess we made the right choice

There have been controlled burns there in the past. However, an accidental fire in that area would be called an improvement fire (some people treat that area like a dump) [emoji107]

Nice. We have friends that have a place on that side also. All sorts to explore.

Well, my first intuition says is wasn't an accidental fire.

So how bad was the damage?

The fire Dept just let it burn, but made sure it wouldn’t spread anywhere else. The explosions and pops were most likely propane bottles. Nobody was hurt to my knowledge.

Agree - people completely trash the beach. It is such a nice riding place but I stopped going there with my family.

I got the fire department notice last night and it said Body Beach.

This morning we golfed and could smell smoke pretty heavy.

You can clearly see a few rather large homeless camps from this aerial shot last June. Quick clean up for sure.
Here in San Diego they inhabit various river beds and areas of dense vegetation, fires are common.

Sometimes you just have to burn down the forest.
Certainly between the careless homeless campers and moronic beach partiers, the possibilities are almost endless.
I know a guy, who's now no longer with us (RIP buddy), who thought that shooting off bottle rockets at a remote beach site was harmless fun. Until one errant shot, landed in the heavy dry brush at the back of a once beautiful bay, torched. Of course he slipped away, nav lights off, into the dark void. So somebody probably knows how it started, but unlikely we'll ever know.

Oh there are battles galore on fb over this right now.. A few liberals saying we need to build them shelters, and others saying hell no.. then there’s me saying bus em to kingman and drop them off. Lol.

Your best bet is to get rid of them, the other side of the Mexican border might be a good place to start putting them. Nothing good comes from coddling them except creating more of them.

One shopping cart.

I think your cost to rebuild is 100% too much.

Noted.

Three cardboard boxes and a tent were completely destroyed. One shopping cart sustained smoke damage. The total estimated cost to rebuild is $5.

Great pictures and follow the shopping carts to the next area with skyrockets.

Its beyond me to be homeless in the desert. Sleep in a tent with a low of 110 deg or sleep next to the beach in Cali somewhere. The meth bust be top shelf

What’s with the RV encampments as you come into Havasu off the 95? I couldn’t believe the number of motorhomes, some one said these are snowbirds that come and dry camp for 3 months just outside the city?
