Anyone have a contact over there? I’ve been looking at a new boat on and off for awhile and have noticed several manufacturers are using Boatmate. Their design seems not well thought out. Swing tounge swings 1 way and swings into the spare. Tounge seems to be a 1 size fits all. It’s like 5’ long. Wtf? I called down there to ask a few questions but left with 0 definitive answers on why they’re built that way.

This seems poorly engineered.

They are cheap, that is the bottom line. If you are looking for something better, buy the boat with no trailer and have someone else build a trailer.

Try V/M Custom Trailers in Fresno. They build whatever you want.

Yeah that’s a very long lever arm on that hinge. Although the way it’s designed with the tube inside of the tube, it’s better than most swing aways, but still too long for my liking

I had the same trailer on a 2021 MB Sport F21. I had good luck with it for the two years that I owned it. I guess I never ran into the swing away hitch issue as I didn't really use it. But now I can see the spare tire interfearance after you pointed it out.
