A friend of mine has an older Bennington Tri-toon. Has a Volvo penta dual prop drive and a 5.7 chevy. The trim stopped working, wouldn’t go up or down. He hired some mechanic in havasu to come to his house and fix it. The guy said the trim pump quite working, he installed a new one. Buddy goes out on the lake. No bueno. Calls the guy back to the house, guy says it must be a bad out of the box replacment, and orders a new one, free of charge. A month goes by waiting for said pump. The guy came Monday and installed it. Drive goes up and down on the trailer. Buddy goes out on the lake today, trim worked in the channel, but will not work with the engine powering up on plan. He can’T hear if the trim pump is working Because of engine noise. He can idle or turn off the motor and trim works. But when pressure is applied. Like you want to trim at speed, no worry.
anyone run into this? Possable wrong pressure trim pump? Hard to believe it takes a whole lot of hydraulic pressure to trim the boat?

Spitballing thoughts… somehow tying into the neutral safety switch? How/why one would do that, I have no clue. 🤔
