Sun was shining so didn't seem too bad. Launched at Cave Rock which isn't my favorite in big wake boat when the wind is blowing. I was the first boat of the year to go through that shitty inspection for all of Lake Tahoe as well as they opened today (May 1st). Such a nightmare Tahoe is; even on a quiet day like today. Give me a another quiet Eastern Sierras lake any day.

Have a blessed week!

And all the flat bottom guy's favorite; a huge Nautique G23 surf wave. Photos don't do this wave justice. It was blowing pretty good and washing everything out.

Stupid ass quaga muscle waste of time inspection. So first station didn't have anything ready and had to drive another 35min over to Myers which didn't have internet so couldn't process anything. 2.5 hours total just to get the boat in the water. Boat is a 2019 Nautique G23 fully loaded. 550hp PCM XR7 closed cooled, Steering Assist Thruster, electric tower, and of course all the other Nautique factory surf/wake/stereo/etc goodies.

and they can't inspect your ballast tanks anyway.

They pump the ballast full of hot water. What is really dumb is this boat has never been in the water except at the manufacture's facility.

Coldest water temp reading I saw in the dead of winter on Havasu was 52. 51 is some cold water.

I was on the water at 11:15. Air temp went up to high 50s by the time I was off.

Was spooner summit the inspection station with nothing ready? I was thinking about getting my inspection done later this week but last year they didn’t even have the decon water heater there when I went up

my local Nautique dealer was telling me some of their new line up starts at $150K, and can option up towards $200k. sorry, but no thanks. and while the boat may have neat features, it's definetely not an attractive hull at all. my personal thoughts.

as for huge wakes, you could find a 1975 (insert heavy ass whatever v hull here) adn fill that with 4000 lbs of water and have the same effect.

We're going to Tahoe in July, looking forward to it. It will be our 1st trip.
I hear the boat inspections are brutal, what is the process? Obviously our boats will be 100% clean, dry, no water in bildge, ski lockers, or dripping from exhaust / drive.
Somebody told me a trick is to have the boat "tagged" from a quagga free lake (meaning it already passed their inspection) and that allowed you to bypass some of what Tahoe requires. Any truth to that? Sounds too good to be true. School me!

No truth to that. Tahoe don't care. LOL. Also if you say you're from SoCal or Arizona you are going to go through the entire inspection. There's a few lakes around here if you say that's all you've boated on they go a little easier because they are considered "clean lakes"....like Folsom. Honestly, if you've got your boat ready for them, and you don't have a bunch of ballast or holding tanks, it doesn't take that long.

So what is the process? What all do they do? Saw a video where it just looked like a normal quagga inspection, but I've also heard they make you run your boat hooked to hot water to decontaminate or something like that. maybe that is just for boats that are deemed "contaminated"?

They will check every compartment, under seats, the bilge, sea strainers, everywhere to make sure there is no standing water and will also check lines, life vests, etc to make sure they are not damp. Being from SoCal they are probably going to run hot water through it regardless if it's dry. It's not a big deal, they will either hook ear muffs up to the drive or just dip the entire drive in huge bucket and then ask you to run it for a couple minutes. It's really not that big of a deal...now the cost is different story.

No sir. It was just an on water new boat delivery.

We have talked about buying a new G series next year as it will make my demos easier since I wont have to prep showroom stuff, etc, but I just don't think we will get the use of it. Still up in the air.

Come up and visit!

Inspection was 110.00 for first year Tahoe in/out sticker. If you only use it in Tahoe ever, the next year is called a Tahoe only and is around 45.00 a year if I remember correctly. However, once you go to another lake, it is the 110.00 inspection all over again.

Tahoe truly doesn't want boaters and they will do whatever they can to make it difficult. The Tahoe Keys charges me 250.00 to launch since I am commercial so I just launch at Cave Rock for 20.00 and drive over to the Keys if I have to. Keys is dirty and nasty. It used to be cool, but not any more.

I don't now about dirty and nasty but it does cost an arm and a leg to launch there.

I have a G25 on our floor right now MSRP is around 230k.

Looks are subjective of course. I prefer the angular lines of a Nautique over many others and I like the fact they keep the gaudy decals and flowey lines of others out of their line up.

Yes, you are correct. You can make anything surf or wakeboard. It comes to safety, ease of use, tunability of the systems, room (meaning a new G has tons of storage due to all tanks under floor leaving room for your passengers and gear).

Hey they are not for everyone for sure.

The water has always been stagnant but I am referring to the facilities. It used to be so cool. Little stores and good restaurant or two but now there is just vacant grimy buildings.

Oh, there are some great homes in there, but also some pieces of shit. It is really convenient if you want to keep your boat on the water while visiting. You guys will have a blast. Don't listen to me. hahahaha!

However, the water is very stagnant because of the design. If you leave your boat in the water there for any amount of time it gets the worst green slime I have ever seen because the water has so much oxygen in it. Bottom clean may be in your future. However, I would ask @GRADS to get better input as he stays there quite a bit with a boat.

The boats I have pulled out of there are disgusting, but they do stay in much longer than a weekend.

People love Tahoe, but I am not a huge fan. Traffic is just terrible, no parking anywhere, expensive to boat in, a pain to boat in, plus I am on that lake one to three days a week through out the summer and I just get sick of dealing with it. I like Lahontan. It's a quiet brown looking reservoir east of Reno. hahaha. Reminds me of a mini lake mead with a few trees.

I'll be in South Shore and boat will be @ Keys Marina the entire month of July. Maybe we need an RDP meetup in Emerald Bay?
Lets do it! I'll be a boat passenger that week but we can coordinate it with the captain

We went last July and took the motorhome and left the boat at home. There is a ton to do up there if you decide to leave it home.

I drove thru the Myers boat inspection station on Friday and it was NOT ready for boating season. I hope they get it together.

Went to Spooner first and they didn't have anything going. They didn't have fake-a-lakes, their hot water pump wasn't working. Sent me all the way over to Myers. They were not prepared either; their internet was down because their generator wasn't working. WTF. Total time to get the boat inspected was a little over 2.5 hours!

Wouldn't you think they would all go in a few days before they open to make sure everything is working and up to par? No, of course not, that makes too much sense. :D

Have you seen the people working those stations. They are either dumb as a box of rocks or totally polluted on weed.
