I was even thinking of trying to put some kind of latchthat locked to keep them closed and in place....so like a wammo seat hinge lock..

Just put something heavy on the seat to compress it and hold it down.

A trim tab, whammo plate, cav plate, or a person perhaps.

Our Nordic Rage has the hinge type on the rear bench you want.

How about Velcro
what happens is when you sit on Velcro it lock together more, then they are abitch to open... then the staples pull out before the Velcro releases …. on sues boat, it's a fiber glass innerline, and they glue the Velcro, then when it gets hot the glue lets go...

I have our midcabin seats Velcro’d down but had to drastically reduce the amount used for the reason Steve said. It almost tore everything apart trying to release for cleaning.

My 98 Nordic ran a double hinge.. It would slide forward and then flip forward on the rear seat. There is the single hinge / velcro on the other side option as well if it's just a flip up.

If a seat is blowing out of a boat I'm assuming it's a slide in cushion now?

when I restored my 72 24' Spectra, I replaced the rear jumpseats with engine hatch and bench seat setup.
I used two hinges that you slide the bench seat sideways to dismount and remove. Once the bench was removed I could unlatch the rear part of the seat and folding flat forward on the floor to give lots of room to access the engine and BW transmission. These hinges were available from Western Marine and any marina accessory shops.
My 1990 Mirage has the same setup, never came apart even in the hardest running in ocean chop.

correct, it slides in under the seat top... then Velcro holds it, so I need something like a double hinge or slider to bring it out far enough to clear the seat back..

No manufacturer markings noted on my double hinge installed in my 2005 Sanger (but a tape of sort is wrapped around the hinges in the wide center section). It appears they took two piano hinges and welded them together to get the lift/height needed to clear the adjacent cushions when pulling up, thus allowing the forward tint by lifting the rear of the cushion.

I could snap pics if needed, but it's definitely not an "off-the-shelf" hinge.

Three different boats by two different builders, never had a seat cushion fly out. Guess we have been lucky.

one time towing our boat to havasu, this guy pulls up along side of us, motions for me to rool down the window... he say's, hey buddy, one of your seat cushions flew out of your boat about a mile back..so I cross the hiway and head back going slow, I spot a seat out in the desert..walk out there, nope … not my seat...so I motion sue to drive forward while I walk through the desert.. ah there it is...nope.. not mine,.. and farther another one... nope, not mine... as I walked, bumpers, ski jackets, ton of water worms, towels, micro fibers, even saw a engine hatch..finally, there it is ...my seat...it landed on a bush... not a mark..guess I got lucky.... but at the same time I recall here ever so often,..."anybody find a seat cushion on such and such hiway last weekend?" so I know I'm not lucky enough to have owned 3 boats by 2 builders that they have never flew out..

Just went outside taking pictures of the bottom seat hinge dealio. Couldn't be simpler that that. When the seat slided back on the hinge and folded down, it's pretty tight between the side armrests. Also, my seat is quite heavy compared to some seat cushions like they were in my 20 Spectra.
