Since my boat is going to be down for a while, is there a place down around the Blythe area you could get to the river by Jeep and put some chairs in the water drink some beers and throw a ball around to my Lab?

We havent been there in awhile since we sold our boat last year. Is a cool place to hang out and the water does get warm during the Summer.

This is a great place also, water gets a little slimy late in the season due to no moving water though, and get there EARLY on big weekends. Careful who you park next to, it just may be the Famous RR...

It's all Indian Reservation Land on the Az side just south of Parker with not much access. You can try Big River on the Ca side

I parked next to you probably 6 or 7 years ago. We came in hot with 4 boats and like 10 or so kids and your little dogs were going nuts. I felt bad, but you were super cool about it. Place gets PACKED now, people actually leave EZ Ups locked to trees on the peninsula side. Memorial weekend that side was packed from the entrance all the way to the little rock damn with EZ Ups, we couldn't even find a place to park, both sides were FULL.

I vaguely remember. My little dogs always go nuts. They frighten easily when people move fast and think they worry about getting stepped on. :D
Crazy how busy it used to get in there and can only imagine that it has gotten worse as more people find out about that section of the river.

Holy crap, our group used to be the only ones in there. Maybe a few more on big weekends.

Yeah, those days are GONE!!! This past Memorial was the most boats/people I have ever seen in there. Ive been boating this stretch of river for 18+ years and cant remember seeing it with that many people in there. Ive seen it crowded, but not like this.

once you go past mac's. its real nice.
you can actually go down 78 go across a few bridges to get to same areas. goggle earth. will be your friend.

maybe here https://goo.gl/maps/8tnmtmM5BrT2

this spot in Ehrenberg was always fun as a kid https://goo.gl/maps/SHFvJYo427G2

much further south of Blythe is this spot https://goo.gl/maps/DsERqFnuoow . Camped there once years ago. A couple good stories. The night sky on a moonless night was incredible.

Thats my park just below "Gilligans" in Ehrenburg (looks like my boats in the water, I see my truck and trailer parked, hahaha). Fucking HATE that beach, stupid assholes break bottles and it makes its way to our beach. I will be picking up glass on our beach the rest of the season...

There are two separate sections of the dog park with a fence between the two.

Right below the bridge to parker...on the california side there's a little lagoon. you can park right on the street next to it. Some of the locals hang out here and leave it shitty, but its usually empty before noon

that little lagoon is bone dry most mornings and doesn't start to fill up until around noon or later and it becomes worse later in the summer when the farmers slow their watering of crops and the water orders/levels fall off, now through around 7/4. You can also continue down rio vista beyond rio del sol rv park to near the end, turn left on the first st. and drive into the wash/desert area. Lots of good off roading out there too, watch for traffic, donkeys and deer etc. Make your way toward the river (Lt./east) and you will come out on river rd. It's a nice dirt road that runs all along the river way down past Agnus Wilson rd. I'm told you can go all the way to lost lake on it. Any place the many washes cross the river you will have direct current water access from a nice sandy beach. Be careful with your dog in the current, it moves fast (8mph) later in the day especially this time of year when the farmers demand/flow is high.

I have driven this road from LL to Dumas Walkers. The road doesn't go directly to LL, if memory is correct it will take you to the upper sandbar/cove an that's it. I use AW to the 95 to get back to LL.

Lower River is closed :D

Ya, I haven't taken it all the way to LL myself. The road does split off in a couple places along the way so prolly best to leave a trail of bread crumbs or something. Heck If your in or near Parker I would just go to the beach at the Casino. Plenty of room, nice cabanas, beach/water etc., good BBQ at the waters edge cantina, no fees. I took my choc. lab up there from my river front house with a beach/lagoon in big river a couple weeks ago just to get one of their tasty tri tip sammiches, get break from my project and let my dog chase the ducks n shit. It's a very nice beach and river access area.
And ya, yore right....the lower river is closed. Something about the mussels, dirty water and hostile locals as I recall hearing now.:D

We were out there this weekend. It's our go to with out dogs (pit and lab). That current is pretty gnarly. It doesn't start cooking until your deep in the wash though. It's pretty dead in that pocket by the reeds.

Sucks the losers have ruined it. I lived there from 1979 to 1988, by t have been back a few times to hunt or just drive through town. Sometimes times for the worse. How long have you owned the park?

I don’t own the park, I just have a place there. Been there for 13 years, had a toy hauler at Riviera (now The Cove RV Resort) for 3 years before that and up at Lost Lake off and on for 15yrs prior to that. A lot has change in the last 20 years... some good, some bad.

I have seen people hanging out in those area's in the past but I'm unfamiliar with them myself. They look pretty nice though. If I had a decent off road vehicle I would be all over it but my 2wd. duramax is not a good choice for that environment. Too many soft sand areas to get stuck in. Maybe when I'm done hemorrhaging $$ on the dirt palace remodel I can finish my boat build and then look into throwing money into a off road toy. That would be cool as I am beginning to like winter out there more than summer myself.
