There is an old thread on this I believe. Either way, the JBL Charge 2 has been great for me. I take it everywhere as a battery backup or just to play music.

I have bought two from Amazon basics they are around 35 bucks. They are not bose or jbl but for the money I take it everywhere and leave it in my truck, so it's always with me.

I have been building and selling a ton of these the last couple months. Genuine Pelican boxes with JL 6X9s. They play for about 40-50 hours per charge and sound excellent. Can also be locked and used as a carry case. 250$ plus shipping for RDP.

I have a Bose sound Wave, awesome sound quality, for it size. I use it mainly on local outings.

For travel I have a Mini Jambox from Costco, good sound for the money.

I think it really depends on what you will be using it for and where (e.g. subject to the elements, etc).

If you are looking for an in-home speaker go get the Sonos system. Unbelievable sound quality, can be setup with multiple speakers and controlled by any device you have but they are pricey.

In my garage and occasionally in the house I use the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 4 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

It has great sound quality, good bass and really cranks but wouldn't be conducive to being exposed to the elements. It is by far my favorite and can be linked to the same speaker so if you want multiple speakers this is a cheaper solution to Sonos which would be my first choice but I can't justify the cost. Plus the Sonos isn't portable (battery powered) as this is which is nice.

For the boat and anywhere I go that where it will be exposed to the elements I use the Ion Job Rocker Max

The battery life is insane and it is loud but gets distorted if you take it over 3/4 volume. Overall I really like this speaker as it is rugged and I'm never worried about it getting kicked over or beat up from things being pushed up against it, etc.

Fusion, the same DCB puts in some of their boats, makes a portable Bluetooth speaker wich is also waterproof. With mounting options for a paddle board or bike or whatever.

We have a JBL that’s been great. When we got a new phone for the wife Verizon gave us one called the WonderBoom by ultimate ears. It’s been our go to lately

I have a Shark water proof one for the boat. We just use it at the Sandbar or where ever we are floating. For 40 bucks it seems to work really well.

My hearing Is not what it used to be, after 20 years of aircraft maintenance and numerous rock concerts, I don't actually think I could tell the difference between any of them.

I have a Samsung one. It's not fully portable, cause it has to be plugged in, but it kicks ass around the house.

Works wifi or Bluetooth.

Been using a JBL Charge for a few years now, sound is good, no issues, great unit with bonus of having charging port for other devices.
