We were up close for the Diary of a Madman tour at Irvine Meadows. To this day I have never seen a front man put out the energy that Ozzy did for hours that day. I'm sure there was some great coke on board, but he was an amazing rock god that day.
Anything he does now, just like Rob Halford, would surely tarnish how I remember them.

What is there to decide? They both are HoF talents with careers that spanned decades. Obviously Dio has the stronger voice, but Ozzy is instantly recognized, and covers many topics in his lyrics and has made great music with a revolving door of bandmates.
In the end, who else could have stood in front of an Ozzy-less Sabbath?

He tours as Zack Sabbath and plays Sabbath songs. He just rolled thru town, but I don't like his spin on the Sabbath guitar work.

I think tonight , Black Sabbitch is playing at HOB Anaheim (chicks).

And you have Mac Sabbath, where they dress up as McDonald cjaracters and hack up Sabbath songs. My daughter wouldn't go with me, but I heard it's a fun show.

I don't think it's a show if you want to see Ozzy as the Ozzy we knew. I think it is a tribute, a farewell like retirement party. Most in the lineup I wouldn't mind seeing. I also liked this snippet:

"All profits will go to charities Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice, according to a press release from the band."

They could make a killing on this show, and still may, but at least some money going for good causes.

Hell yea! when I was in high school, I lived in the garage and a kid from down the street with long ass red hair always asked me if we could set up one part of the garage to play in, I couldn't play or sing anything but this dude was the best drummer and singer so we sound proofed the walls he was always coming by with a few of his buds and they only jammed black sabbath, guess that is where I learned to love Black Sabbath , plus I got to bang his little sister for a while so it was a win win.
