Hey Gents,

We usually stay in Lone Pine but we are going to stay a weekend in Bishop instead coming up. Anyone have any feedback on Highland's RV Park, Tri County Fair RV Park or Brown's Town in Bishop?

Thanks in advance!

My parent's have stayed at Highland's RV Park and Brown's Town with nothing bad to say. But they like to fish, so places are more of a drive to get to, and plus its hot AF in Bishop.

I get it...I would like to go higher but we kind of use Lone Pine and now possibly Bishop as a "base" and hit things from there. I also don't like coming off of the big hills in the RV...the road coming down frm Bishop Creek Canyon is no joke!

I grew up going camping in the Sabrina and South Lake area every summer, honeymooned at Convict Lake, camped with our boys at Rock Creek as they grew up,... The problem I have nowadays is the areas don't support the larger RVs in the campgrounds, you're stuck down in Bishop having to drive up the hills daily to hike, fish, or just watch the scenery. Are there any "campsites" up-canyon that can accommodate the larger motor homes?

I've never even considered camping at either of those places. I always head up to Mammoth.

What's your program look like? Im really curious what I might be missing?

Thanks. 👍🏼

Yep.

It was 105 when I stopped to get propane and food in Bishop on my last Mammoth trip.

Grant Lake was MUCH nicer!

Lots!

The main RV park in Mammoth, dry camp pretty much anywhere between Mammoth and June Lake, Grant Lake that I just posted a couple of pics of.

Just to name a few. There are all kinds of places to camp. 👍🏼

We have stayed at J Diamond Mobil home park - they have a few RV spaces.

We would only do 1 or 2 nights here and plan to use it at a base camp while we are out Exploring like - GONE ALL day !
What we like about it…

It’s right behind Shats bakery every morning we get breakfast and get a sammich for lunch while out exploring

In the evening after being out all day, we can walk the town have a cocktail appetizer or dinner….

It is not a scenic park - it’s in the middle of town

We would take a 40' DP up to Ceekside RV Park that is close to Sabrina and Intake 2

We like Mammoth/June Lake for sure but we also like Lone Pine to Bishop and areas to explore around there, as well. For short weekend trips it is a little closer with the RV, as well. We go up in October and January every year so the heat isn't as big of a factor like in the middle of Summer. Other times we head up to June Lake.

In October we always hit Bishop Creek Canyon for the Fall colors and drive up to Rock Creek Canyon from down the hill in the car. Bishop is a good "middle ground" for a weekend. With kids in sports we usually can't get out of town until Friday late so that factors in, as well.

Those look like a couple of nice places to explore. 👍🏼
