the new boat has the Dana billet swim steps. We will for sure need a boarding ladder, however the steps are not drilled for them. I see the Aquastep as being the best choice. How do the mount? Do I have to drill holes? Also, has anyone had Gatorstep or similar made and installed on these steps? They are slick as can be.

There should actually be holes tapped in the bottom sides of the Dana’s for an auqastep.

Some of the older steps did not have the blind holes in the bottom for the step to mount. Those look identical to mine, and mine to have the blind holes. An Aqua step will bolt on if so, you just need to get the right sized one. If you measure the hole spacing in the bottom, you can get the right step.

I ended up getting a Windline ladder and drilling/countersinking new holes for it.

My plan for this year is to have new solid platforms made and put a non slip pad on them. Those steps look nice, but they suck. This ladder was the best thing I’ve done to my boat.

I was able to get a look at my steps this afternoon, and they don’t have the blind holes underneath. So it’s looking like I will have to drill/ countersink
