Buddy wants to go full baller on normal person budget. We are looking at the penthouse suites at golden gate or one of the two story spa suites at golden nugget. Anyone have any other reccomendations? The penthouse is 2300 for 3 nights ththre spa suite is 1400. Not looking to drop 8k hence downtown.

Golden nugget suite. IMO its a much better hotel in general but those suites are nice. I stay there monthly for work, not in the suites, but occasionally if something special is going on I'll upgrade

X3 on the Spa Tower Suites Golden Nugget

They are sick, total baller old school vegas, and you can score them pretty reasonably a lot of the time. They have a Master Suite upstairs, with a steam room (or maybe it's a sealed steam shower), and then downstairs is a living room, full wet bar, dining room, and powder room. Got one during the Mint 400 a few years back and it was only like $500 a night iirc. (I think on weekends they are probably closer to $1k)

Golden Nugget also has an excellent Steakhouse (Vic and Anthony's i think)
About comparable to a Morton or Ruth's Chris on price and quality.

I like Hugo's Cellar in the 4 queens, it's like 90% the quality for probably 50% the price, but most importantly it's probably the last place in Vegas that hasn't been perverted by the 'New Vegas' atmosphere and decor, it's exactly how it was 40 years ago, menu and service. The place absolutely kicks ass.

Nugget Spa suite. Before the boat we would stay there every year for the lady's B-day in July. Their pool is fun and you are right in the middle of downtown should you choose to wander about. Just be sure to double check the sofa for anything (fluids) overlooked by the cleaning staff. :)

Alright cool this was the cheaper option so looks like the Nugget is the spot. Thanks all and thanks @Racey for the restaurants. It's a belated bachelor party weekend so want it to be nice.

Hugos cellar is great - My Asian team insist on a trip there every year.
Wending your way through the smokey grungy casino is a trip back in time.

Being downtown it reminds me when the mob ran vegas it was more fun - they'd actually treat you like a client. Almost nobody ever got killed that didn't "need killin".
Corporations are the newer colder version of the mob that just treats everyone like a number.

agreed on Vic and Anthony's too....one of the top rated steak joints in Vegas. Hugo's also good, just a step below. Top of binions...garbage. The only thing it has going for it is the view which is cool. Couple other gems down there, Courdroy bar, kinda 80's themed, Make their own Ginger beer for moscows if you like them. Down a few more doors is a killer thai place but its small so the wait can be long. Evel Pizza, Evel kneivil themed spot that sells by the slice if you want something good and quick. Hogs and heffeirs is always a good time if you like a more dive bar spot with some crazy chicks. And the Pizza joint right there Pizza Rock is pretty solid too.

Yea...I spend a lot of time down there lol
