Looking for a 4 seater sxs that will fit X2 larger adults in the rear seats. I have a 18 month old grandson and just want to have an SXS to use on a one acre lot in the High Desert and to hit the trails from his backyard. His parent's are on the larger side and I dont want them to feel excluded and dont want a low seating and tight fitting Sxs.
I want something no older than 5 years old.
I dont want a Mule style work Utv.
Looking for something in the middle that still has a little style, power, suspension.
Looking for the crossover of SXS, lol.
I see the Teryx, General. Ranger.
What other one's am I missing?
I cant remember what @RiverDave had but it was a nice set up.

Kawasaki all the way. You will be happy with the Terex, happier with the KRX1000.

Before I bougth mine. I already knew of all belt problems, axle problems, A Arm problems that the RZR and Can Am have. All my friends/neighbors have them.

Due to their problems, I would not even consider the other brands.

Buy Kawi, and you will not be wrenching on it as frequently as the other brands.

I bought my 2020 KRX 1000 used, 9 months ago ish… with 3200 miles. Its 100% original when I bought it. Not one thing had to be replaced, by the previous owner. Its still on the original belt.

Since I bought it, I have ordered new clutch weights, suspension bracing, skid plates, ST Springs, etc etc. But I am planning to bash the living shit our it at Moab and Rubicon this year. Some serious rock crawling is in its future.

But for just day to bashing around Carson City/Reno/Tahoe… I dont have to do any of the ”upgrades”. Hard Core, yeah it could use a few preventative measures. It gets the job done. Since I have had it… I have not broken one thing, did have a shock with slight leak that needs to be rebuilt. (Edited - the shock that leaks happens to be right next to the exhaust… removing the catalytic converter could prevent that from happening again… which is another mod I will do in the future).

Can my friends with RZR/Can Ams say that… HELL NO…Because I end up towing their dumb ass’s…

I’d be looking at a general / North Star / can am defender for more utility style..

Honestly a can am x3 is pretty big in the back and I think the pro r has a lot of roll room as well.. kinda depends on budget and purpose. My old one was a ranger crew but it was pretty built..

I am looking for something in the $10k to $15k so something used.
On the Classified/Toy Syndicate there is a 2015 Teryx with 500 miles for $13k, my friend has the same thing with 2000 miles and has front suspension and a stereo he told me I can have for $10k.
Just wanted to see if there is something better in the price range for the type of SXS I am looking for.
I want one you can step in and sit, not seating on the floor. Just easy in and out kind of like the Rhino was.
But I want something that is somewhat capable.
The last Sxs I had was a 2008 Rhino with long travel suspension that I got rid of in 2010. So I am sure most of these newer Sxs are better than that. Back when I had the Rhino it was so easy to jump in and go than my friends Rzr.

Dude..
Teryx with 500 miles for $13000,,, thats a damn good deal… thats the one I would take..
Saying that, same car with 2000 miles for $10,000, nothing wrong with that..

Buy one or the other…
Ride them hard for 3-4 months… if they dont meet your expectations, sell either for what you paid…

I dont see a downside… But thats me.

I'd look at a John Deere Gator. They have a ton of room. We've got one in the family and it climbs hills like a billy goat and has enough suspension to be somewhat sporty.

You might be able to find a used Yamaha Wolverine 4 seater in that price range.

Not a full sport ride but also not a farm tractor.

Definitely an upright seating position.

10-15k price range is gonna keep you out of XP41K rzrs and Can Am's. You might find the older style Can Am "Maverick" 4 seaters in that range, non-turbo.

A 4 seater later model Teryx might be the way to go, especialy if your friend has a clean one for 10k seems like a no-brainer.
Not the biggest back seat but for the money that's a solid deal.

We love our 2019 Teryx4 Le. Not the fastest, but climbs like a goat. I bought it brand new 15,000 out the door January 2020. Upgraded the tires, stage 4 elka shocks, light bars, clutch redone, upgraded a-arms all the way around, and ecu reflashed. We have not used it that much because the kids were too little to ride. My youngest is now 18 months old and we strap the car seats in the back seat. They are usually asleep after 10 minutes of riding. Only 250 miles on it right now but that is changing since the kids are getting older now.

Another vote for a S4 John Deere Gator....I had a polaris crew and now have a Gator and would have a hard time going with anything else. Full disclosure I farm and use it like another tractor rather than a toy but it has never let me down and will pull 2 fully loaded hay wagons in 2WD whereas the polaris literally would not pull one. If it did chances are the axles broke....again hahaha

I can't say all bad about the polaris as I did beat the daylights out of it and it did pretty well but the Deere is absolutely built stronger.

The Gator will top out around 50 or so but that's plenty fast enough for what I do with it.

Rumor has it that Deere is releasing a true six seater like the ranger or Can Am in 24 so I will probably be upgrading as the S4 is literally a 4 seat machine.

A good friend of mine has a 21 defender and has nothing but good to say about it for what its worth but he literally could have a golf cart and achieve the same thing with how he rides it hahaha

All in personal preference really...do you like the looks of X over Y? then buy Y.....My opinion...all of the metrics(honda, polaris, can am, kawasaki) are really all pretty close to the same at this point..so it just matters what creature comforts and looks you want?

Looking at a one owner 2013 Teryx 4 seater with a cage, seats, wheels with only 125 hours and 1300 miles for $7500.
I know 2014 they updated them and put in larger engine. Should I stick with a 2014 and newer? Still looking to spend around $10k or less.

That seems good. If it seems like it’s been maintained and in good shape, not bad at all.

Price is not bad but wondering if it is worth paying more for a 2014 and up with the 800cc motor instead of the 750cc? Any other changes on the 2014's?

@RiverDave
What year was yours?
