Don’t waste your $$$ on Keel Guards just have the gel coat touched up every 3-4 years. It’s costing me more to have the worn out keel guards removed from the Cat I bought than what it is just for the gel touchup

The price of the keelguard, and R&R down the road was like $100 cheaper then getting the bottom done, It made no sense to do it in my mind

Way back in the day didn’t someone sell a sort of “hammock” in Hot Boat magazine for boats? It was an aluminum frame with a mesh material.

The idea being you placed it then drove the boat on it.

Throwing an anchor off the bow and stern tying to the beach saves you a lot of headache [emoji41]

I want to rhino line the keel of my boat. It’s a wakeboard boat so performance really isnt an issue. The hull is red and black already so a black keel would look fine. I wonder if it would work.

Spectra coatings in washington has a premixed gel/putty they sell. They use the manufacturers material code so its a match in color. It already comes with catalist mixed in, just prep the site, spread it like filler and sand off the excess. Finish it with a cut an buff, it will look new. Thats what i did on my skeeter

I get the stuff from west marine , mix myself, make a "band-aid" out of packing tape, its really smooth, sand , then fill the chips, and apply said "band aid", so it hold the gel in the upside down position, sand and buff.

Good luck, wouldn't be surprised if he doubles the charges once it's in the shop. Had a couple people tell me he's done the same to them to, especially if you're out of town.

Pedro used to be the best kept secret in town. I would text him, he would grab my boat. But like all boating biz in Havasu, he got busy and forgot about us little guys. Bummer because he does a great job back then at a fair price.
