Back in da hood

Wife and I had to run out to Hawaii Kai or HK as our lazy son and friends call it. Great to see where we learned to water ski and be pulled on our surf boards before that was a thing. Makes me want to get a boat here. Tried to talk the wife into a couple of jet skis. Might have to do it so we can enjoy life while in the islands as well.

I lived in Hawaii Kai for 9 months in 1978.
I worked for a company that ran Jet Ski Hawaii in Koko Marina.
I was sent out there to build a barge that we anchored in the bay with Jet Skiis on it and they ran the customers out from the Marina in an Avon boat.
I also was there to hop up all the skiis on the island since there wasn’t anyone out there that did that kind of work like we did(porting/head milling/pump work)on the mainland.
All in all had a great time.
The company had a house rented on the highway 3 houses down, on the water, from the bridge that goes over the Marina exit to the bay. Sunset every night right next to Diamond Head.

That is a great story!!! That was a great time back then.
