That is so damn cool, amazing things you see from the air. 👍
Some of these remote places are they known to you and other pilots or are you crazy enough to look down and say that should work.

Some of the places we land are only reachable by foot, horse, or Air so remote.

Some of the plateaus we land on I’ll bet no people have ever stood in those spots.

Do you stay here all winter, or most of the winter? Or do you go back and forth?

I used to think the sea-plane was cool, and so was the aerobatic/ stunt plane...but a bush plane looks to be perfect! I'd never thought of landing those in places like that...like a dualsport setup 😍

Yes. Here most of the time
Was that an inverted selfie? Lol.

Yep straight and level inverted. Sounds easier than it is everything‘s backwards.

The Husky is a phenomenal airplane. Just so capable you think it and it does it. Today I had a second passenger and still able to land and stop in under 300 feet.

Well and the blood rushing to your head doesn't help with focus either.

Forgive me if this sounds stupid, but does this mean it creates a lot of lift at low speed, and has good brakes? Or good brakes and massive acceleration?

Someone posted a video last year, Dead Cow Lake races maybe? Pilots were doing sprints, takeoff, land, u-turn and takeoff...very cool stuff.

Not a dumb question at all. The Husky, as well as a few other airplanes are considered STOL aircraft, which means they are built for short takeoff and landing. They have vortex generators, and lots of lift giving the capability of flying very very slow. As slow as 30 kts before you see a stall.

Given a strong enough headwind, you can basically takeoff and land on virtually no distance at all.

30kt stall is impressive. Useful for things like you guys are able to do, almost mind bending. Intentionally landing places you'd have never thought to try.

A few years back, guess 10 or 12 now, I took my sons to the Chino air show. While they were sitting at the controls of a C-17, I asked the pilot what speeds it could take off or cruise at. I knew they were meant for poor conditions and short runways (comparatively speaking). He said the previous show in Las Vegas a Highway Patrol had clocked that massive beast at 90mph floating over the tarmac. Even the big guys play with their planes as well.

If I owned one of those (and knew how to fly 🤣) I could take off and land in my yard. That would be so cool!

Cub in that video will takeoff a little shorter than I will. However, the new IFR Cubs aren’t certified Aircraft, unfortunately. ( that was an old one)They’re kit planes that can be certified under experimental. I like FAA certified airplanes better.

I got my seaplane rating in a 1946 J3 cub. 100 horsepower 😂

That is badass. Are you part of a club, do you just rent planes, or do you just own a few different planes? Just about finishing up my PPL and am constantaly looking into buying a plane.
I have a plane problem. Just love to fly. 43 years and not getting even close to being boring.

I own and have a few friends that I fly with.

If you have the time and can afford it, Get your private pilot license! There’s no turning back, and nothing better. But having time and resources is key!

If a person doesn’t have time to commit, I never recommend it.

Went to Vegas dogfighting formation training and some really cool, acro training. Working on inverted spins and tumbles. Finally got those figured out.

Too much fun. Threw together a quick two minute YouTube.

I'm certain I will regret saying this & you will never hear it from me again. It would be cool to hear what you are saying instead of the music.

Too funny. I’m talking through the maneuvers with the instructor on the sequence of pedal ,throttle ,stick.

A lot happens in a very short time to make the plane do all the wild maneuvers.

@Bullhead bully my first few years here you didn't post much but you stepped it up the last couple of years with stuff like this and the pictures are absolutely amazing, awesome, beautiful or all 3 sometimes. I look forward to your threads and pics.

I’m guessing this is more fun than running up river early mornings in 2’ of water. Thx for the vids and pics. ( amazing)

I still enjoy running in the river. Definitely doing more of that this year that I have in the past couple couple. Flying just so different. Really the ultimate freedom.
