This was a cool read.

This pilot partied hard for 10 minutes straight, passed out and woke up inverted.

Full afterburner from take-off, to pass-out, to wake up time......All in the name of "just because i can"

:cool::cool::cool:

One of my teachers in middle school flew an F4 in Vietnam and was shot down, he said they glide about as good as a brick. LOL. He was a really fun teacher.

Yes your middle school teacher is correct. Another analogy that was relayed to me many years ago that with no thrust the F4 Phantom had the glide slope of a set of car keys.....

It was a tie between the F4 or the A10 when I was growing up as to which was my favorite. LOL.

Loved those planes.

My list was the same, plus the A7 Corsair II

We had our Fire Explorer academies at George Air Force Base in the mid to late 90's, right after it was closed in 93. We slept in the barracks, ate at the chow hall, had ceremonies in the theatre, took group pictures on the tarmac, and did training in the housing units. Since GAFB was home to F4 Phantom squadrons, there were still a lot of references to the F4, including a decommissioned plane on static display. I think I remember the bowling alley being named "Phantom Lanes"...

F4's had the power, A10's have the gun, but nothing will ever be as sexy as an F14 Tomcat, especially when you see one in person.

F14's are my all time favorite, they are dead sexy. Due to the size of the plane as technology improved and became more compact they were able to lock onto something like 6 targets at once towards the end of it's career.

I worked on them in late 80’s stationed in Hawaii while serving in the marines and can tell you they are living proof that if you put enough fire on a shit can it will fly. I never flew them but moved on and flew these.... best in the fleet!😎🤙🏽🇺🇸

Pretty cool story! My stepdad flew the F4 in the first gulf war, then moved on to the F15 eagle. The nickname for the F4 was Double Ugly, he had that as a personalized license plate on his cars, no one ever could figure it out lol. My mom was not a fan of that license plate 🤣
