How can you hate a breed of dog. They are all great in their own way. It is the owners that fuck them up. I have had shepherds, pit mixed, boxer and yappy ankle biters and I trained everyone one of them to be a good dogs that everyone liked. Even got the yappy one to stop barking unless their was a good reason. Just takes time and patients.

Since we are talking names, one is named Quigley, the other is Roo.

My daughter literally climbs on them and torments them all day long. They never express any aggression towards her. Quigley watches her and follows her everywhere. If she yells for one of us, he barks. If she cries, he barks, if she runs to bathroom he barks. It’s pretty cool how they interact with her.

My mix She can be stubborn but have made big strides to mute that. I blame this on her cattle dog mix....lol She is turning out to be a great companion pup. Currently have her on a diet as she is food driven and it got out of control. Want her to drop about 10lbs as she currently is 77lbs. Strong as an Ox

He's fantastic,. My Wifes best friend, I just spent 3 months working up north and her quality of life with him there has improved tenfold.
I say my Aussie was the best but that was my dog, she has bonded with Huck like no other.
Really happy we found him.

My female Aussie had a way to get out of my yard on my country property that I wasn’t aware of. She always slept in the barn with the horses. Apparently at night she would sneak out of the yard and go to a neighboring property and steal their dog’s toys and peanut butter filled Congas. The neighbor came over and asked about and I told her I hadn’t seen anything. A few months later I was clearing some vines and found about eight of those things hidden in there.

Prior to our current Lab . . . we had 2 Aussies.
They were both given to us due to family situatuons, not dog behavior.
To be honest, I was never a fan of Aussies before having them . . . I thought they were too high strung.
But once they learn your program, they are awesome.

Pops really bonded with 'Halo' and they became best buds . . .

A couple resaons we didn't adopt an Aussie for our 3rd . . . we didn't want one to 'compare' to our last 2 since they had grown on us so much.
And we had a chocolate lab once and really liked her . . . so we adopted a black lab.

But I gotta say . . . I was completely OVER the Aussie' shedding . . . that damn fur was so light it got EVERYWHERE.
The lab sheds just as much if not more . . . the only saving grace is that it's shorter, a little heavier & doesn't fly everywhere as much.

I cannot tell you how awesome and fun this dog is. So much energy. So smart. awesome with the family. protects all of us but my wife the most. Just turned a year old and is just a ball of fun....

I also cant tell you how much I want to kill him sometimes. Leave this fucker alone when he wants to go with you and this is what happens.

We have one my wife says is a part Australian. She bought it as a Lab/Corgy mix and I tell her repeatedly there isn't an oz of either in that dog. I call it a Coyote whenever asked. Eyes are crazy and its the smartest dog on the planet. Amazing with the kids and no stranger or other dog can move in the neighborhood without her letting us know.

How bad do Aussies shed? We had to put down our last dog 1 1/2 years ago. That was the 5th dog my wife and I have had together. Putting them down when it is time just kills me. After Gus we said no more dogs. Want to travel and not fair to kennel them, plus having to put them down, so I still don't want another dog.

Well my wife is missing not having a dog really bad. She damn near makes a comment every day. I know I am going to lose at some point, so I want to steer her to a good breed. All of our previous dogs have been rescues. 1- Lab/pit, 1-German Shepard, 1- Jack Russel/pug,1-Puggle and a boxer/greyhound.

If it were my decision (which I could make happen) we would get another Shepard. He was my buddy and the best damn dog ever. I still don't think I am over losing him and it has been 14 years. It is the shedding that gives me pause about another GS. Back when we has my last one we had a house cleaner, so I didn't care.

Sorry I ended up rambling on and thread jacking.

Life’s better with a dog, get back in the game. Dogs shed and Shit and sometimes are a pain in the ass, that being said they are all in on life and being present in the right now and will take you there with them if you let them. I’ll only have Aussies from now on, get a legit pup and build the dog you want.

She never killed one but every remote in the house had her teeth marks, my Aussie hated being left behind.
That dog could hear a key ring at 5 miles.

We only had a single Aussie for 8 years and she was very happy. We were actually a little apprehensive about getting another, as two females can be problematic sometimes. Fortunately, we had zero issues and our older Aussie is happier than ever.

Ours are good together, they never fight, but one is female and one a male, both fixed. They play a lot together.

As far as people, the female is under my feet 24/7. She’s attached to me, the male watches my daughter 24/7. I think they get attached to someone and they obsess over it, if that makes sense. Both love everyone in the family but they have their person as well.

The male has bitten someone when my wife was pregnant. He's well socialized, we do the dog park a couple times a week and he’s not aggressive at all. I think he got weird when she was pregnant, some guy was walking bye my garage, I was loading him in the RZR to go to the dog park. He ran out and grabbed the guy by the arm and started shaking him. It wasn’t good, fucked the guys arm up pretty good and he needed stitches. Thankfully he didn’t sue me or have him put down. He did call animal control and I had to prove he had his shots. They pretty much told me if he has another incident, they will have to put him down. He just has to be on leash outside at all times, and we lock him up when we have company and let him out once everyone is inside and settled. Point is these dogs will go to the mat if they have to, if someone grabbed my daughter he’d be on them in a second, but they are also playful and fun 99.9 percent of the time.
