Anyone got a recommendation for this landscape stuff in Havasu? My neighbor got estimated for a skinny little strip and it was astronomical, way, way, way out there
Thanks as always šŸ‘

Yeah . . . unless there's a brand / material that I'm unaware of , it'll prob. lose it's loft quickly in the heat.
Doesn't look very good when it's laying over on it's side.
I guess you could enfill it up higher . . . but IMO that never looks good to begin with.

Just got a price for a 910 sf piece for $6800.00. Contractor says it has reflective properties to make it stay cooler in Havasu temps

Report back how your bare feet like it when it's high noon and 120 degrees.

I just put some in, I got the turf from that Turf supply place in Havasu, I'll think of the name at somepoint.
Their prices were great, I did a 20X40 spot. I wanna say I was all in around $2K for turf, and infill, nails, and infill spreader.

Just my .02 about what others have suggested above...A large portion of our backyard in Phoenix is turf. Yes, it's spendy, but I freeking love it and it was worth every penny. You do need to protect it from any reflections from windows. I haven't heard good things about the film. We have solar screens on the windows that would fry the grass. Ours does just fine in the heat. Hot tip (see what I did there? šŸ˜‰): be sure to bump up the price on the install by requesting sprinklers. Not only do they cool the grass down even on the hottest of days, they also rinse it off when it gets dusty.

Getting the name of who our friend used in Havasu, as they've been really happy with theirs.... stand by. Edit: they used Havasu Paver and Grading Service https://www.havasupavers.com/

I would go to the supply house and ask them for a referral. Iā€™ve done that for numerous projects and have had good luck so far.

Honestly, our cool deck material is bearable..
We have that as well. Itā€™s pretty surprising how well it works.

Havasu turf pros is the place to go. I was shocked at how affordable it is and what great service they have. They run monthly specials and have a huge inventory. Beware the other place in town is twice the price.

Installed this myself and another piece in the back yard.

Thatā€™s not a bad price per sq ft installed. Cooling turf wonā€™t do shit in this heat. Sprinklers are the way to go if you have kids that will play on it.

That is a good price $7.47 per sqft. The prep in the desert soil is different than the way it's done in so cal. They don't use base from what I have watched. They just smooth out the sub base then use DG. We remove 3-4 inches and soil and use compacted class II road base.

In OC , IE etc I would be at $9-$11 ( depending on the product ) per sqft installed for 910 sqft. That would be all in out the door with a good domestic turf with 15 warranty. Just like any other home improvement job the quotes can range from $7-$25 per sqft.

No turf will be noticeably cooler in the desert heat but will not melt.

I have it at my Vegas house Iā€™m guessing it gets just as hot there. No issues just donā€™t step on it barefoot.

Fake versus real...no comparison.
That's all I got...

Had a guy tell me one time ā€œreal grass in havasu is for rich people onlyā€. lol

Thereā€™s a ton of fake grass out here so I wouldnā€™t worry about the heat etc..

Iā€™d be more concerned about the dogs pooping on it and how do ya clean it?

you let It dry, poop scoop it, hose it off every now n then.
and enzyme rinse it every few months to eliminate any smell
