Great Article Dave, and to the point. I have been ski racing since the 60's and this years parker race was a great feel for the sport getting bak to it's roots family fun but competitive.
Let's hope the momentum keeps going from havasu to up north
Nice article Dave - Thanks! We'll be having the same circle and marathon format for all NWSRA race weekends this season. The next race coming up is Havasu on April 20th and 21st. The Boat Show will be going on that weekend, and Ski Racing with the teams all setup on the beach - its going to be a great weekend! Cheers - Sean
Thanks Dave, Great article about ski racing and very true. Like Dave said we literally showed up last year in long beach knowing nothing. Everyone went out of their way to get us signed up and find us equipment. Great group of people cant wait for Havasu.
Nice coverage RD. I skipped this years home town race opting for a heli-ski trip. Scuttlebutt is NWSRA may be considering Parker (vs. San Diego) for the US Open this year. Sure hope so.....

Excellent story Dave! I know what you're saying about the "vibe" at this event. Walking around the pits before, during and after the races had a genuine back-to-school feel to it. I've never ski raced before but love the people involved with this sport and and am fortunate to shoot some great racing action to share here on RDP. I wanted to add this photo of another relatively new boat to the race scene, someone who's no stranger to RDP. The mighty Paul Gooding in his #211 Shiada pulling Cole Wonsley in Sunday's Mini Marathon with Frank Randell observing.
