Interesting post on my fb group page

New 2024 Argo Cat 23 Widebody.

Thanks for the add good people. Long time boater, but new to RDP.

I already posted my new Argo on a few other groups already.. but wanted to also share with the west coast contingent. So stoked, such an amazing weapon. Also not sure if you guys also saw the press release that Argo Cats will now be built in North America (by Jack Barsh at Full Throttle Powerboats in Jacksonville) in addition to Finland. Production begins in August.

Specs include:
- Fiberglass & Kevlar Widebody Hull
-Mercury Racing 300R – Wingplate model
- IMCO Steering
- Bob’s Versa Extreme Jack Plate
- Aarons Upholstery with Alcantara
- Controls – Mercury Hotfoot, Shaun Torrente DTS shifter and Bob’s Blinker Trim
- Digital Dash - Simrad
- Marine Flooring – Aquatraction
- 2 different Props – Dewald 4 Blade 15.25” 34 Pitch, Hill Marine 5 Blade 15.25” 34 pitch

Testing will commence early spring, although expecting similar results to what others have achieved with their Argo Cat 23’s w/300R – which is 118-120MPH.

No rub rail?

Only 2 side cleats.

It there a hatch for ropes and fenders?

Seats 4 or two people and an ice chest.

Just my 1st observations.

However, it does look fast.

When do you see a rub rail on a capped boat?

Why would you need more then 2 on each side on a boat like that?

Appers to be a hatch in front of the engine.

I don't think they were building this for lunch cruises on the ICW 🤣 🤣 🤣

Where would you put the forward and reverse spring lines if there is no midcleat?

Top cap and bottom cap, correct? 2 piece hull. A rub rail protects the bonding between the two pieces. It is also just good to have so the boat does not get dock rash.

All I know…… there is a super limited market for a boat like this in Florida. It is surprising that they are made in Jacksonville. It will probably be bad ass for a few passes down the St John river……. then what?

Falcon boats builds a catamaran. They are a new builder. Their boats are bad ass, and they are struggling. Personally, this looks like a Parker or lower river boat. It’s not an ocean boat for sure.

You’re at the Ferrari dealer asking where the mini vans are at.

The market for sales may be limited in Florida, but the ability for marine manufacturing is not.

FWIW…….

I have yet to see a Parker style jet boat, flat bottom, drag boat, or circle boat ever in Florida. I’ve been here 11 years.

On the other side of the coin……… I’ve never seen a airboat or mud bogger in Parker. Lol

I think there are a lot of people on RDP that find this very interesting. Good on fuel, halls ass and I'll bet it will take some pretty decent chop.

On the spring line (which you really shouldn’t need on a boat this small) you’d run double lines of either cleat.

A full cap / no rub rail is generally considered an expensive upgrade!

This thing aint getting tied up to a dock where it would need a spring. It's getting backed off the trailer, haul some ass, back on the trailer, and your back home drinking beers and smashin' ass.

Personally, I'm into boats that need a spring line, the ones with a stabin cabin lol.
