Are the sheriffs still patrolling the river or is the coast guard now?

I didn't see any sheriff boats this weekend and while at road runner a local told me they lost their funding? He said there is just 1 coast guard boat? I don't know how true this is the guy was wasted when I was talking to him and I haven't been out there for a while.

Haven't seen the Coast Guard on the river in a dogs age.
Sounds like you heard a " Sea Lawyers" Fairytale.

Awhile back (right after laborday)I posted that I had heard the same thing.. Cops lost their funding etc.. Boat cop quickly refuted it and said it was not only not true but they had logged more hours on the water then years previous.

I personally didn't see hardly any cops all last summer.. Most of my friends that I asked have the same consensus..

I dunno? I can only go by what Boatcop said.

I think the coast guard was around because of the ski races.

Parker is crawling with cops that have nothing better to do than write BS tickets all day. Best to stay up at the lake. Much safer there. :thumbsup

The Coast Guard does have jurisdiction on the river and lakes of the Colorado, but cant remember ever seeing a coast guard boat anywhere.
Cant say the sherriff or the havasu cops lowered their presence any last summer either.
Cant say I had any runs in with them either:p

:D

I took my Jeep down to Midas to have some exhaust work done a few months back. "We don't do that anymore" I was told. LOL.

Thats kind of what your known for. The guy told me that nobody does brakes better then Midas. Oh, ok. I asked when the building would be available for rent. :p

My Stepdads first job was welding mufflers at a Midas in West L.A. Just saying.

Now, back to the river being a lawless free for all this year with no cops on the water.

The coast guard does patrol havasu during spring break and poker run for sure. I've been stopped by them on both occasions. Was stopped just for safty checks both times.

We saw them on big weekends maybe three times last year in Havasu.
