Wife wants one. Ive been looking at them for Christmas, but have no clue.

There’s a variety of them. Any insight from the inmates?

It’s a bit of a personal preference thing, but I’d guess most women would prefer the smaller size. I went with the larger, for the screen size boost. I also chose the cellular version. The latter has been very handy when I’ve left the house without my phone.

Besides telling time, they work well for reading text messages without having to fish around for her phone in her purse, press a button to find your phone, exercise tracking, etc. Do stand alone cell service (the microphone works quite well) or no separate cell line, and just tether to her iPhone.

Very happy with mine and my wife would be hers too, if she actually ever wore a watch😳

The cellular version doesn’t require the phone to be nearby? Another contract??

Smaller I agree would be best.

It's basically face size, bands and if you want cellular.

Buy some Apple stock, Watch it go up.

Done!
I've been preaching that on here for 12 years. 🤣

I got RD the small one for Stacey and if I recall correctly she wished she got the big one instead.

My wife really likes hers. It does a lot of the health type stuff that works with her iPhone.
That's what I use mine for. It never leaves my wrist unless it's charging. I really like the Health app with it. The watch tells me how long I slept and also what type of sleep...deep,REM etc. It's nice when I've had a few cocktails and I wake up the next morning asking what time did I get to sleep last night?🤣

Correct. It's nice when I go paddle boarding, I leave my phone in the car.

Yes, but they produce apple products, if you buy them you support foxconn.
Notable products manufactured by Foxconn include the BlackBerry, iPad, iPhone, iPod, Kindle, all Nintendo gaming systems since the GameCube, Nintendo DS models, Sega models, Nokia devices, Cisco products, Sony devices (including most PlayStation gaming consoles), Google Pixel devices, Xiaomi devices,

Got any of these in your house?

Remember those Life Alert commercials that we all made fun of? "Help I've fallen and I can't get up". As I get older I appreciate wearing the watch on my wrist, it detects falls. Instead of the life alert necklace.🤣

No, I have had a pixel device years ago. No gaming devices, no xiaomi devices, I probably have some sony device from the 80s and 90s somewhere.

It is known that apple uses slave labor. I don't feel like everyone should have to research every product they own/buy.

To each their own I suppose.

Best thing is to take her with you. She can try them on. See what size she likes. Colors. Bands. Covers etc. You can buy a lot of nice bands from other companies for them. Wife loves hers. I don’t wear watches. I have a phone to check the time. Guys that wear watches are gay 😂

I had one. Never again. Every three seconds I was raising my wrist to look at an email, text, or a notice to tell me how many steps I took that day or my current heart rate lol

Then I started turning off notices but at that point why am I wearing an ugly watch?!

I sold it on eBay.

I used to say the exact same thing until I got one. I really like how it tracks my exercise, heart rate, oxygen level, ECG, etc. Because of the watch I was able to ask Siri how many miles did I jog/walk in 2023. 1600

Apple has three watches to choose from, the 10 series, the ultra and the SE, everything else is style.. I would get her the top of the line Series 10 Apple watch, it's the latest and greatest one, all the bells and whistles. Get a give receipt incase she wants something else.

All my good watches sit in my dresser drawer. Apple Watch is all I wear. The DawnPatrol app is great if you surf.

Fuck apple... If you have to install nets so your employees don't commit suicide fuck you.

As much as I dislike Apple...

That article is from 2011, and is about one of the Apple SUPPLIERS.

Seems like someone tried to BLAME Apple for this.

Carry on...

Just don’t wear it while playing basketball, or it’ll offer to call for help. This I know. 🫤

My daughter has had both the Samsung and Apple watches.

She has an iPhone now.

She said the Garmin watch is the best, especially if you're into fitness.

👍🏼

It also detects sleep apnea now. Detects your breath rate and heartbeat while sleeping. Here's the different stages of sleep it detects.

Yep. Wife has an Apple watch and it works well for her (basically a phone on your wrist). I have a Garmin Epix and it is much better if tracking fitness and other health issues are what you are looking for. It is also a GPS on your wrist. I have used it for navigating offroad and it works well if you are in a vehicle that does not have offroad capable GPS in it.

Monitors heartrate, pulse ox, activity levels, steps etc... It's constantly monitoring everything and the computer in the watch crunches all the information. It's pretty amazing actually.

I get that. But how? By shooting a laser through your wrist? What are the repercussions of that over time?

Yep, it has a heartrate monitor and pulse ox monitor that I believe uses lasers. I have no idea if there are any long-term repercussions. I got the watch when I was having health issues and to specifically monitor my heartrate throughout the day. It's been a great tool for me.

I used to say the same thing till about a year ago until I bought a Apple Watch. Kinda nice to not need a phone or a wallet.

I enjoy using my watch to pay for everything. I especially like going to the grocery store, paying with my watch, and watching the old people behind me in line stand there in amazement. 🤣 Sometimes I forget my phone at home on accident, no problem, pay with my watch.

EDIT: I will also add that I haven't carried a wallet for over 5 years.

It really does so much, I use it for my boarding passes. I also like it as a backup to my phone should I lose it or have a problem, nice to have a backup. I'm with you, my wallet is just a lump of leather that I keep around and don't use much anymore. I use my Apple watch when I travel for work, at home I'm old school and prefer my old wind-up Rolex and the Apple watch sits on the charging stand. The Apple Watch can be a bit much when we have iPhones in our pockets, but it has its place for sure.

Furthermore, I’m a huge Siri user. You’d be foolish not to use Siri, especially when driving. It does almost everything for me. Especially as we get older, Siri really can help us out, and does. Talk to Siri through the watch to help you.

Off the topic, I just bought a set of AirPods Pro 2’s with Hearing health. They have a function to act as heating aids. They work so good. Technology is pretty amazing if you have an open mind,
