Had some reservations about going but it turned out way better than expected.
Over 30 bands performing in 3 different spots, 1 outdoor and 2 indoor, Friday and Saturday.

This is the 9th annual for Apache lake and combined with a little boating, it's absolutely worth the beating the wash board road gives you. I go EXTREMELY slow towing the little boat in there and the 9 miles of dirt takes about 1-1/2 hours.

Quite the assortment of people and costumes. Lot's of tie-dye.o_O

Damn I wish I knew about this. I'll Google it so I don't miss it next year.

So you're one of the brave and adventurous ones who drag their boat to the lake on that mountain dirt road - it's a pretty lake and less busy thanks to the route there and back

We generally try to get there at least once a year. It really is best as a 3-day trip and we just stay at the little hotel at the marina.

We tried a couple of times to make it there this season. I will have to make it next year for this festival.

I think thats the lake my neighbor used to frequent a lot in his earlier days....You have met Joe. He always mentioned he loved it out there.

Is that the windy road, all dirt for quite a long ways with drop offs and a narrow road?

Yes.
I recall talking to Joe about Apache Lake.
The road is dirt for about 9 miles to the marina coming in from Apache Junction.
Fish Creek hill freaks some people out but it's really not that bad. Just narrow, steep and rough.

We were talking about going to Apache for thanksgiving. Is there any place to park a 28 travel trailer close to the water? I haven’t been there in like 25 years so I don’t really remember it.

Burnt Corral Campground is next to the water and lot's of people use it. The USFS site says not recommended for trailers over 22' but I see large motorhomes and trailers in there all the time. You'll absolutely have to come in from the Roosevelt Lake side though.

The marina has a few spaces that can be reserved but not on the waters edge. You'll still have to come in from Roosevelt so it's a fair distance more of wash board road.
