I need to do a boat test in a couple weeks. The drive will definitely be wet from the hose!

That means Puddingstone is out.

Anyone been on Silverwood lately? How strict are they up there?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Customize a set of muffs to blow air from a compressor through them and dry out the drive. Hmmmm.

No speed limit in the middle at Elsinore. Thats why all the local MFG. use it.

If not everywhere else is like 35 mph tops. I don't know if that's fast enough to cycle rpm.

Silverwood you will need to line up at night, Perris 35 mph, big bear 35 mph, Castaic 35 mph and they like ticket books.

You forgot Steve and I are both retired? I was just up at Silverwood to visit Stan a few weeks ago. He just retired! That place was empty mid week. 😊

I'm thinking Marine Stadium is the hot ticket. 👍🏼

Except for the salt water on the trailer.

Seems like you could used compressed air to get any water out of the lower unit if you wanted? Remove the engine cover, blow air through water dumps, and blow air up into the water pickup, turn the engine over by hand with wrench on flywheel to get it out of the water pump? Just guessing it would work, never had to try it living where I do now.

Engine test. Stoker.

Hull freshly detailed by Dan.

This time of year, Smellsomemore usually looks like pea soup.

🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮
I’ve heard it’s not bad this year, water is up from all the winter rain.
I know it was overflowing out of Canyon Lake so all that water went to Elsinore.

Meh.

Thanks why God invented WD-40 and gardens hoses.

I was turned away and from Silverwood and put in the 2 week quarantine list in the spring of 2020 for having a damp rag in my bilge. They make you drop your drive, if a drip of water comes out you're fucked.

Smellsomemore let me in to test that same day 🤣🤣

Lake Elsinore, pay the money and Launch at 'Launch Pointe' at the end of Lincoln at Riverside Dr. at the upper NW of the lake and you'll be fine.

Stay far, far away from Lake Elsinore Marina, further to the West. Pea soup city.

I tested an Ultra on Elsinore a few years ago. It was bad then but it got the job done.

LOL I found out why the POS didn’t want to go out as the valve tap was loud enough to hear from the dock. He went ballistic in front of my then 12 year old son when I told him I was taking a pass. Even the mechanic where he had it serviced confirmed it. Some people will lie looking at you and that wasn’t the only lie to get me to drive from Phx to San Diego to buy it.

What city. Or what lake are you close too?
He's still hiding from ARRP and the US Census bureau and doesn't want anyone here to know that he's moved to West Hollywood. ... He's still a little sensitive over the move butt is really enjoying his new neighbors.

Lol just a question. I’ll just go to the nearest lake to you tbh. I recommend Perris. Before you pull into the check area, I would pull over at the gas station and lower the drive to check for water.

So these places wont let you put in if you have a wet drive?? They have people inspecting each boat as they pull in??

Seem crazy to me🤷🏻‍♂️

So the boat launches are more secure then our border🤦‍♂️ noted!
Ask him about the Beanie Baby Diapers that line the shore of Lake Perris.

Silverwood, castaic, perris, all do same inspection drop the drive if 1 drop comes out it’s game over. Best bet is Elsinore just to test.

Correct.

It's due to the Quaga Muscle issue. If you're boat has even one drop of water in or on it, they will not let on a lake.

The Only time I ever got around this rule was going with Jim from Hallett. They knew him well, and they knew any boat coming with him had been on the hose, so they weren't concerned about him.

The rest of us mere mortals are told to pound sand.

I got in the water a few times couple years ago dead of winter to try the wave on a few boats, it was dark green but dealers had no problem dropping a new rig in to "demo it".

Elsinore has no concerns about mussels because it’s not part of MWD. It’s a natural lake with no dam and no outlet.

Not to mention that lake is already so Fucking disgusting, one more species of Anything, wouldn't make any difference!

I just can't see putting any boat freshly detailed, by Detail Dan, into that muck. He'd probably never speak to me again if I did that! 😱🤣

What are you saying? I was suggesting you could dry it out to be able to get on Puddingstone. Too bad it's been so long since I was there, I had connections.

I'm saying Marine Stadium sounds like a winner.

Gotta give credit where credit is due...

Ol Booger had a great idea on that one! 👍🏼

Actually, the presence of algae is a sign of a healthy lake. Elsinore is green because it’s shallow and gets sunlight full depth. Perris on the other hand is literally dangerous water quality but deep so no algae.

You can make a reservation online for Silverwood...no need to get there super early

Update as of August 7, 2023.
Based on recent lab results from lake water sampling and guidance from the California State Water Board, the City of Lake Elsinore is announcing that current levels of toxins from algae warrant the posting of a “Caution” advisory

Healthy. Noted. 👍🏼

Algae can be toxic but it’s not the raw sewage found in Perris.
