theybought the original stamping molds for Ford. Brand new vehicle. looks like a 1970. $275k & up.
They cant make 'em fast enough. Sending sea cans full to the middle east...... they sell every one they build. Keeps prices nuts.

Wow what's an obs 7.3 worth nowadays? I got a 96 that's pretty nice.

Best part about old Bronco's is that there are people still making full restoration parts and changing out a rear cut quarter really isn't that hard. But I agree, prices are nuts. I could sell mine for about 10 x's what I have in it and it isn't even running yet.

I should have never sold mine . I had a 72 that my parents bought new and was my mothers daily driver till I was 16 . I had it till I was 33 . It was in the middle of a full resto mod when I bought my 99 F250 SD 7.3 4 X 4 . A year later my daughter was born and the restore stopped and a couple years later I sold it . Had I known they would become such a collectors Item i would have kept it . It was pristine .

I was blown away at Barrett Jackson last year with the pricing on these and k5 blazers . K5 went on Saturday for 450k that’s 1/2 a million with buyers fees. Crazy shit. I did see the company authorized by ford to build the new ones 250 min up to 400+ depending on what you wanted.

I heard rumors a while back that Parnelli Jones ‘Big Oly’ Bronco may be auctioned… never heard anything else … someone mentioned that it could go for a million $$$ .

So what’s the consensus on the value of a virtually rust free 70 bronco with a 351 Clevland that’s been parked for 35 years

Nice ride for sure but no overdrive and old school engine? For the money I would rather update to a modern engine platform=long life no leaks.

Since it's been sitting That long, it's gonna be a complete restoration. That's a shit ton of money if you're not equipped to do it yourself...

The bronco here came to me as a rolling chassis. The body, frame and axles were fully painted and assembled but that's it.

I had to do absolutely everything else...

The engine had never been run. The trans had never been run. The transfer case wouldn't shift, so I had to rebuild it.

I had to go through both from and rear axles as well. Everything was painted, but it all leaked!

I had to install the AC, EFI, power windows, power steering, power locks, keyless entry, the entire stereo system, the Dakota Digital components. My friend made the box all the audio components went in, i wired the whole car from scratch And made wiring diagrams for the owner. I installed every weather strip and trim part. We did the full exhaust (all stainless). I can't even remember all the shit that we did! Dual Fuel tanks, fuel lines, you name it.

I think I spent close to two years working on this thing off and on? And I think the total LABOR was around 40k. The owner supplied all the parts.

So...

I'm gonna guess he has 30k in it when I got it...

Lord knows what he spent in parts...

No clue what he paid for it originally...

And maybe 15k for the interior at least?

I'm gonna say at what it sold for, he probably barely broke even.

So even though what you have is a rare find, it costs cubic dollars to restore one from scratch, if you have to pay for the whole restoration. This keeps the cost of what you have somewhat limited.

I’m just curious on the unrestored market as it might come up for sale.
I’m aware and most aren’t of what it costs to do a car, I did it for 11 years as a job and my whole life as a participant in the culture lol.
I laugh when people say what they think they’re going to spend, and I say double it and add 15 percent haha.
My favorite saying to a customer was
“bring me the proper part for the application and I can modify it to work.”
They look at me like I was crazy🤪

At the end of the day it's worth what somebody is willing to pay. I have a '96 Crew Cab Shortbed F250 460, built E4OD with a Dana 60 with locker, Gale Banks exhaust and had a guy offer me $25K sitting in my garage. It is very clean and original body and paint, nearly flawless with perfect interior. I just couldn't let it go, even for that absurd amount of money. It's my favorite body style and I did all the work to the powertrain myself so we bonded. I get tons of looks and my only regret is it's not the 7.3 so I actually have a Vortech Supercharger with all the goodies that I will be bolting on hopefully pretty soon. I would hang on to what you've got if it was me is the moral of the story, they just don't make trucks like that anymore.😀👍

Wife's little brother bought a brand new 1974 Bronco, when he signed his first baseball contract, fresh out of High School. He could only put a down payment on it with his "signing bonus" ($2,500). When he went to Rookie Ball in Florida, his paychecks were going to his Mom, who was supposed to make the payments. She didn't make the payments and didn't tell him. The next spring, when he came home from Rookie and Winter Ball in Venezuela, he didn't have the Bronco NOR the money.

Luckily, his catcher and good friend was some other rookie dude named Scott Boras, who blew out his knees and became a lawyer. 10 years later, that lawyer (Scott was the only lawyer he knew) got him the (then) largest MLB contract in history from the Blue Jays.

He's still pissed off over losing the Bronco.
