Wondering who all is going to be out at the river this weekend? I will be between needles and the gorge on saturday for sure, maybe part of friday if I can get my stereo all fixed and ready to go if I get up there early enough. Would be nice to meet up with a couple members for once.:D

We'll be out, but down on the lower river...

Me too Zack. By some freak chance we might finally meet this weekend. I am guessing we will be up near Picacho. If you see my boat stop and say hi, I will do the same... :)

How far up is Picacho? I've taken the boat about 5 miles north of Fishers but then the guess work of navigating through the shallows was a little too intimidating for me. Do many props make it up to Picacho or Walters?

Picacho is about 10-12 miles north of fishers (total guess based on around 20 minutes at 40 MPH)

We have taken our toons up past Walters from hidden shores...

Getting up to picacho really isn't all that bad, about 5-10 minutes past picacho is where it really starts to get shallow IMHO... If you know how to read the river, you should be fine, the only times we get in trouble is coming back down river into the sun when it's glassy water. At that point you can't see shit :D

Hoping to be pulling into Parker at about 5 or 6 tomorrow! Just in time to do a little work on the boat and either head up the hill to have Jason make some cocktails if he is open or walk over to foxes! Sandbar Resort Spot 22, hopefully a fixed Spectra in front!:D

Anyone wanna meet up and have some beers and throw some shoes? Usually on a beach just above moabi, look for the shockwave with a windshield. Would like to meet some cool river rats!:skull

I'll take some pics for you this weekend tamale. You could get a paddle board stuck if you don't know what you're doing but you can also get a big boat up there if you can read the river.

Tamale, Zack nailed it for you. We go up to Picacho all the time and we have the same motor you do. I can assure you that Rex had your boat up there often as well when he owned it.

Just make sure that you follow someone who is familiar with that part of the river when you go the first time......

Yuma is a completely different read than Parker. Yuma has deeper water next to the reeds which is completely contrary to what I am used to. I've been about 5-7 miles north of Fishers and encountered quite a few sandbars from shore to shore. Guess the best thing to do is follow an experienced boater up through that area. (Rex's engine went kaput on me my second trip...my "newer" engine weighs 200 pounds more than the old one unfortunately, same HP).

Here you go. Pics start at picacho and show boats above picacho.

We were 20 minutes past picacho with our buddies from Walters who came down. They have a 21 stealth and two 24 foot hurricane boats.

We looked for ya. I don't get up there very often. That place was packed out. The big weekends must be crazy as all hell. I would've been good to see ya guys.

Thanks! Got to BHC Friday afternoon. Had some trailer issues Saturday that required my immediate attention. We made Pirates on Sunday. I must say ........... That DJ there and his music drove people away. I am not one to complain ....... the music and his singing would not be a choice for me.

I saw you, you do exist. We were on a sandbar just below Picacho when you guys went by. I waved at you but you didn't see me. I never saw you come south. Water was great this weekend, the rest of it I could've done without...

Oh dang sorry I didn't see you. We were heading up to meet some friends from Walters. We came down around 7:00 I think.

The water was awesome and the weather in general was great too. Not too much wind and not too hot.

Crappy people on the sandbar or what? We had a sandbar all to ourselves (8 boats in our group that day :D)

Yes, he has an older blue Eliminator with an OB on the back. That was probably him.

Holy crap, I used to know the original owner of that boat. Haven't seen it around in years. The boat is a 92 Ultra with what looks like the original engine, right?.

Where did Roz find it?

your kidding? Hahah someone that knows, Ken? 200 Merc, gave him fits with the battery. Yep 92/93 Ultra open bow!

The boat was built in early 92. The original owner was Charlie (not shown in pic). Charlie's now ex-wife is the one sitting in the bow. I worked with her at the time. Our boat was built in late 92, and I got alot of ideas for our boat from this one. I have the same jackplate as this one does, and I used to have a similar motor (although I think I remember that this one is carbed, mine was EFI).

Picture is from the summer of 93.

I thought it was cool when I saw your posting. Like I said, I haven't seen that boat in many (10+) years. Good to see it is still out there....

Hand is useless right now. Get a hard cast on Wednesday and that will be on for 5 weeks.

We will probably be out this coming weekend although I doubt we'll be on the water. Probably just sit on our deck and drink :skull
