I use to know the original owner, and have driven this boat back in 2003. It was a real clean boat back then and the owner took good care of it. Don't know about any of the owners after. It was a good riding boat in the chop in Havasu.

What was the original owner's name? A friend of mine used to have a Stiletto he kept in Havasu but I had only seen it once. Curious if maybe you knew him as well.

Joker and I were talking to another member out at Pirates who owns one currently and he said it's the best boat he's ever had.

Seem like a good deal? Seller is 3rd owner said he just bought it in Nov but wife wants something different. No maintenance records or any idea how many hours. Said it was used to run around the island and park in the channel.

So it's actually a DCB in costume? ;):)

My neighbor has one and loves the thing. Also a SBC Boat.

I agree with Budman.....friend had one of these boats and I thought it rode well. Lotta peeps have negative things to say about Cheetahs, but good bang for the buck if this is your budget imo.

So im still interested in this boat. He's asking $15999. I book it basically stock at around $12K , Has big stereo system, looks really clean. if the boat checks out what would be a good offer to shoot the seller?

If it's as clean as it looks in the pics? Might not be a bad deal at the asking price? Offer him 14,500

You can always go up in price...just don't insult with a low-ball offer. Talk to him and tell him you booked it and what the outcome was and see what they say.

I am curious as to how someone "books" a boat accurately.. Because nada is all over the board, and can be very inaccurate in some settings. There isn't really anything else other than "wholesale" value which is going to be buy bids from dealers??

Nada is what a bank will loan on it. But not really market value especially for something that's clean.

That's what I'm saying. Nada in your boat isn't going to be nearly what it is worth.. And the actual worth of your boat has actually been "determined" by two interested parties now.

Everyone always forgets that NADA and KBB etc are just GUIDES.

Actual worth of anything is determined by how much someone is willing to pay for it.

It's a good starting place for negociations, but everyone values installed accessories different, the guy may WANT to value the 4k stereo in it, as that is what it cost to install and purchase.

It's actual value is up for grabs to the buyer, you always loose your ass on that kind of stuff IMO.

Unless it's something that everyone agrees on like a Teague drivetrain etc.

No hour meter is a weird call, how do you even figure out how it has been taken care of?

Unfortunately banks often lend based on /KBB/Nada, etc.

Buc also has fairly comprehensive guides for used boat values.

Lots of "boat for sale picts" had the picts taken when the guy bought the boat.

My thoughts exactly.
