The Grand National Roadster Show is next weekend, I just finished prepping our 57 Brougham for the History of Customs Display. Anyone else going or got a car in it? If you go, come by we'll get a beer.

On a side note- Performance Boat Candy made the prep pretty painless. (except for the stainless roof- that was a bitch)

You're using "PBC" on the car? :) Is that the new automotive formula? Or are you using the boat stuff..

How did you prep the stainless?

BTW, where is the show at? I won't be able to attend (going to river) but I haven't heard anything about it either.

Troostr, your '57 is sweet.
We used to go down every other year when it was still the Oakland Raodster Show that handled AMBR.
I miss it, but I am not going to make a trip to LA for it.
Take some pic you guys that go.

Also in this line of thought the huge Turlock Swap Meet is next weekend. It takes two full days to get through it, a bunch of us are going, I need a pair of bucket seats for my '40 Sedan, looking for some dove gray leather lowback Lexus or like seats.
If you are looking for hot rod parts, hot rods, and obscure car culture stuff, ya gotta go to Turdlock at least once.

What Dave? You didn't know they had Special Auto Formula of PBC? Where have you Been?:D I imagine if there were it would be the same difference that Driven's Marine and Auto Polish have. It got a good rubdown of Driven, then a final detail of PBC, (will be doing finger print removal daily with PBC too:grumble:) The Vynal clean and protect were great! This thing sits in an insulated building all the time with the windows down- I never realized how grungy interior can get that way!
The Top is Factory, brushed stainless. Some mother's power metal polish followed by Driven, followed by PBC. Can't leave the PBC on the stainless too long ( >20 sec +/-) or it left spots where the beads sat.

I will have to say, when I first got PBC speed gloss, to test it out I did my whole Dairy pickup with it- looked great, still beaded water after 5-6 carwashes where the kid sprays "bug remover" aka wax stripper all over my cowshit covered truck. :thumbsup :thumbsup from me.

Glad your liking the PBC! I haven't tried the automotive stuff yet.. I expect it's just a different label, but I gotta ask Tim before I go putting the marine shiznit, on my truck.. LOL

If I knew that Cadillac had made a suicide 4 door/coupe appearing car I must have forgotten. Saw first pic and thought 'nice coupe' then scrolled and saw the suicide and said WTF?

Really really nice car!

:thumbsup

Bones, is yours the black early 70's with the huge back tires and the big blower? Looks like a living Monster Machine? That's a bitchin car! That caddy looks like Watson's. Neat car as well. GNRS is on my bucket list.

The Caddy is a Watson Clone. Larry built his the same time my dad got his license and wanted one like it ever since, but the Eldo Broughams were 13k new in 57 (they have memory recall seats and came with personalized vanity sets for the original owner-crazy shit) so even 5-10 years later used ones were too expensive, now he has his baby. (and a couple more) We built this one in 96-7 Watson's got returned to original by a Cad collecter.
