Anyone else fall asleep during F1 race?

I made it to about 6 laps and it was lights out sadly there isn’t much in this world that I care to partake in past 10:00 pm. I’d have been pissed if I shelled out coin to go to Vegas for this thing and had to stay up to watch it, I’m not a Vegas guy, I’d rather stuff some money in an envelope and mail it to them than have to be there in person.

There must be some appeal that people enjoy about Vegas, but for the life of me I just don’t get it I think it’s funny that they had this massive financial commitment to do this race here and then tried to cater to their international demographic who would be watching over seas. Apparently it’s just about eye balls on tv and making money, best of luck to F1, I think they shit the bed choosing this venue, if there are not enough people here who care, why have the race her at all?

A 5 second penalty for going wide on turn 1 was BS. Should have given the spot back.
Then I watched the practice rounds again, and Max pulled that same move every time in practice.

Putting on some hours at the office today, streaming a replay of the race, on lap 38 so far. Had to pause a few times as clients came through. My buddy stopped by with his jag, out for a Sunday drive.

F1 is pretty badass, if you examine the physics of what’s going on with these machines, it’s on the bleeding edge of what’s possible. Top fuel and trophy trucks on that same edge, just impressive that this stuff is possible. Nothing more can be accomplished by throwing more money at a race class, it’s all top level and that’s sorta cool.

I wish the coverage / commentary was a little more ‘relatable’ … I get that it’s top level tech. & pinnacle of auto-racing etc. … not to mention untouchable by mortal fans w/o a small fortune to drop on spectating.

Also, it appears to me that ‘tracks’ such as Vegas really clip the wings of what these cars are capable of. With all the fencing, rails, & barriers …. It’s almost ‘unwatchable’ , even with modern cameras all over the track. Hard to get any sort of read or perspective when you’re watching a stream of 3-5 second clips.

It must be a more of a money driven ‘show’, with some ‘racing’ attached than anything else.
I can only imagine all the super high dollar pre-parties, after-parties, gatherings, meet & greets, etc etc etc. that go on.
